I have been a pet-sitter and dog-walker for many years now, starting way back when I was a kid, and I have been sitting professionally with Rover since 2016. I just really love dogs, cats, and all animals as well. Because of my other work as an intuitive healer, I also practice the art of animal communication, which gives me the advantage of being able to connect and communicate with your pet on a deeper level, and to help them get their needs met more efficiently. I can help them understand that their guardian is away, but that they are safe and will be well taken care of until you return home. I am also a holistic nutritionist and have an eye on animal health and well-being as well as human health. I have done many first aid courses over the years, and am well equipped to handle emergencies, should one occur (though we hope not, of course!). I also have extensive experience caring for senior pets, special-needs pets, and puppies. When we go for walks, your dog will love knowing that I'm as excited about it as they are! I am a very active person and love exploring the outdoors in the company of dogs. Rain or shine, we will have a great time. If you have cats or other pets, I will spend time playing with them with their favorite toys, and giving them loving attention. I also create personalized portraits of your pets in watercolor pencil. I follow common sense and whatever guidelines and instructions you give me regarding your pet's safety. I always keep dogs on a leash when walking as Rover's insurance policy requires it.

Ankke watched our elderly dog Ralph for 5 days while we were away getting married. Ankke was absolutely incredible!!! Ralph has a lot of special needs - he can't hear anymore, he has a heart condition, and he can have flare ups of back problems. We felt really at ease with Ankke - she kept us up to date with how he was doing with detailed updates, sent loads of pictures, and took wonderful care of Ralph. She seemed very, very tuned in to Ralph's needs and his emotional and physical state. Usually Ralph gets upset with us when we're away and can take a few days to warm up to us again, but this time was different - Ralph was so glad to see us and was in the best mood right from the start. We're so thrilled to have found Ankke and are excited to have her care for Ralph in the future.

Ankke has been amazing over years of staying at our home and caring for, exercising, and creating fun for our 12 yr.old terrier mix. Communicating all this with us while we travel is so appreciated.
Ankke did a drop in visit to meet our small elderly dog Ralph. Ralph can be shy around new people, and Ankke was very sweet and gentle with him, and Ralph clearly liked her! He was much calmer than usual when meeting a new person, and Ankke seemed very tuned in to him. We’re looking forward to having Ankke spend more time with Ralph in the future!
This was the first time we had someone come into our home to take care of our dogs. My husband and I were very nervous since we were traveling out of the country. Ankke was so kind, compassionate, and accommodating in meeting our "first timers needs". My two dogs loved her and they were very happy in Ankke's care. She provided excellent communication and we loved the pictures. We highly recommend Ankke.
Ankke was wonderful, managing our household of 4 cats and one 4 month old puppy while we were on vacation for a week. She communicated daily, sending pictures, and with any questions for clarity on care. She is great with animals and people too!

Schedule
I work from home online and over the phone, so I'll be with your pet(s) most of the day, unless I need to go run some errands or have a quick meet-up with someone outside of the house. I generally make my own schedule, so with enough notice, I can accommodate your pet's usual walking/feeding/playing times in between what I need to do for my other business.
