With over 40 years of experience caring for a wide variety of animals—from dogs and horses to hamsters and fish—I’ve developed a deep understanding of their needs and how to build trusting relationships with them. I’m an active, responsible, and trustworthy person who values clear communication, not just with pets but with their owners too! Whether your dog needs plenty of exercise, your pet requires special care, or you simply want someone to keep them company, I’m here to ensure they’re happy, healthy, and safe. I’m always happy to follow your specific instructions, send updates and photos, and tailor my care to meet your pet’s unique needs. When caring for pets in my clients' homes, I focus on maintaining a routine and environment that feels safe and familiar for the animals. I offer services like dog walking and drop-in visits, ensuring your pet gets the attention, exercise, and companionship they need while staying in the comfort of their own home. For dog walking, I always prioritize walks in the pet’s neighborhood or areas they’re accustomed to, as most dogs feel more secure and relaxed in familiar surroundings. During drop-in visits, I follow all owner-provided instructions, whether it’s feeding, administering medication, or spending quality time playing and cuddling with your pet. My goal is to reduce any stress your dog might feel in your absence and provide care that mirrors your own. Special note on boarding: I offer ‘Boutique Boarding’ service. It is highly personalized and I treat your dog as my own during their entire stay. I only accept one dog at a time (multiple dogs from one family ok) and focus on their individual needs. Your dog becomes part of our family. I do not kennel or use crates to simplify my life during their stay. If your pet needs their crate as their safe place and prefers access to it, I will of course accommodate. I have a very friendly 10 year old female Cocker Spaniel mix, so I do require a meet and greet to make sure our dogs get along and you are comfortable with me and my dog.

Anke has consistently walked Odin twice a week for a year and a half. She is super attentive and always shares feedback both written and verbal about their walks. Our neighbors have commented as well (unsolicited) about what a great job she does with our baby. She’s super attentive and caring and can handle our dog well even though he’s reactive with other big dogs. Anke is a gem!
Exceptional care of dogs as usual
Anke, provided very exceptional care. She arrived at requested time and gave each dog 30 minutes of one on one time. Provided very timely updates. I can leave them in her care worry free.

Recently retired and an active dog lover, I’m thrilled to spend my time offering flexible and loving pet care, combining my passion for animals with a lifestyle that keeps me active and fulfilled.

- For single walks, feel free chat with me for more detailed instruction. For recurring services and boarding, I like to get to know both you and your dog personally. This helps me get to learn about their unique personality, preferences, and needs so I can make them as comfortable and happy as possible. During our meeting, we’ll go over important details like your dog’s likes, dislikes, energy level, health considerations, favorite routes, and any commands they respond to. We can arrange a time to meet beforehand to ensure your pup and I are fully acquainted. My goal is to make every walk and drop in or boarding stay as enjoyable and stress-free for both you and your furry friend!
