Safety, trust & environment

I live in a house with a fenced deck and fenced yard. There is stairs to my garden. Ask more, if this concerns you. My 2 friendly toy poodles get plenty of exercise running up and down the stairs to the deck and among my beautiful garden. There are several very close areas to walk dogs within 5 minutes driving of my house. Also, we have a dog park 10 min away. Here's a PLUS....I literally live 30 min from the northern gate entrance to Yosemite National Park, (our 3rd National Park). So, if you plan a trip to hit the snow, hike to its many waterfalls, bike or take a nice relaxing float down the lazy class 2 Merced River in Yosemite......contact ME. You can't take dogs on these ventures...

Information Angie L. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know anything you feel would be useful for your dog's stay here. Fears, desires, preferred treats (you provide), tricks etc. Even if you pet is here for the day only, I suggest you bring a blanket, favorite toy and perhaps a used sock of yours. This way I can make a "special spot" for your pets to lie down that has familiar scents. I must add some limitations for dogs staying in my home. I do NOT accept unspayed, unneutered males. This can be dangerous for other dogs in my care. Your pets MUST be house broken, willingly going to the door when it needs to go potty/poop. If your pet is a senior and on meds that makes him lose control of his bladder or bowels, I cannot care for your dog...in your home nor mine. If your pet damages my carpet, digs up my garden, destroys any of my property I will Not be able to have your pet in my home. If I was not informed prior to booking about any of these problems and your dog stays here, you will be held responsible for damages.

A typical day

I take new dogs on a tour of my yard and area in my house when first arrived. I encourage all dogs to follow me when I go outside to do chores etc. I take a dog's face in my hand while I speak the do'g name and we look into each other's eyes. Lots of petting, rubbing etc. to build a good warm relationship. Tug of war is a common play my dogs enjoy. Dog's love when I play hide n' seek....me hiding & popping out. Great rainy day game that gets them so excited they will chase each other all over the house. It is essential that I am informed of any handicaps your dog may have...such as blindness, hearing loss, digestive issues, fear of the dark etc. Please do NOT switch food prior to bringing your dog to stay here. Always continue the same food when in a new environment. Bad experiences on all of these issues have occurred and is the primary reason for me bringing this up. It is also for the comfort of your pet.

Pet care experience

I have had pets all my life...birds, cats, hamsters, mice, fish, turtles & more. I bred & raised several of the small breeds mentioned here. I got pretty heavy into breeding Pomeranians for the most part. Then one day I met & fell in love with my first toy poodle. I named her Precious. I have been hooked ever since. I learned how to train dogs about 20 years ago. I have been doing it ever since. My two poodles I taught to do tricks. What else should I do with a 3 1/2 lb doggy? I have had quite some experience giving different kinds of medicines to dogs. So I feel pretty comfortable handling that task. I have taken care of many owners' pets in the past but that was before I have ever heard of Rover.

Angie is amazing. My wife and I wanted to do some hiking in Yosemite but found out that dogs aren't allowed on most of the hiking trails. Angie was able to care for our 3 dogs (Pit bull, Blue Heeler and Pug) on last minute notice. She allowed us to enjoy a day in the park without having to worry about our 3 furry kids. We highly recommend Angie and we will definitely be booking with her again on our next visit.

Angie was wonderful with our senior dog, Frankie! We left Frankie with her for the day while we explored Yosemite, and it was the perfect place for her to relax after a long road trip. Angie made sure she had plenty of water and a comfortable place to rest. She also sent us photo and video updates throughout the day, which put our minds at ease and showed us how much she cared. We're so happy with Frankie's stay and would happily book with Angie again the next time we visit Groveland. Thank you so much!

Angie was so sweet and my dog Teddy loved her! We used Angie when my husband and I were visiting Yosemite from LA and she was in such a convenient location. Angie let me husband and I come morning and night to see Teddy and also cooked him special meals when he didn’t eat the food we packed for him. Teddy loved Angie’s 2 poodles as well and they got along great. Thanks so much Angie!!!
