I work at home part/time as a hairstylist, and can easily accommodate furry friends in my home, and supervise them as I work. I have a flexible schedule and can easily take breaks for dog walks or check-ins most days.

I have a large, ground floor apartment on the plateau with a fenced backyard. I don’t leave pets outside unattended, and prefer to keep them in my sight. I have two older cats at home who are very chill and friendly with both people and pets. I myself am pretty chill too, I am compassionate and gentle and would never raise my voice or lose patience with a pet. In my home, pets are allowed on the furniture.

Let me know if your pet has any particularities — if they are afraid of loud noises, or don’t do well with other animals, I will be mindful of that while taking care of them. If your dog is working on any new tricks, I can help them practice. If they have any bad habits you want to deter, I can work on it with them.
A typical day
I love to interact with dogs, challenge them mentally while playing, use up all of their energy and practice new tricks they’re in the process of learning. When I’m watching or walking your dog, we’ll visit a variety of parks (there are even a few dog parks within a short walk from my house that I frequent). I don’t jaywalk, or encourage any bad walking habits. I am very attentive and never distracted while walking or hanging out with a pet.

Pet care experience
At just 12 years old, I started my own business walking dogs in the neighbourhood, which I did for 3 years until I was old enough to get a job. As a teenager, I volunteered at the SPCA to feed, socialize with, and clean up after the cats. As a young adult, I worked at a dog kennel in Toronto while I was in school. I grew up with both dogs and cats, and after leaving my family home I instantly got my own dog to help make my first apartment a home. Now I have two cats, and because I work from home, I have the pleasure of spending plenty of time with them! For years I have been my friends’ go-to person for pet-sitting, dog walking, and stopping in to check on their cats while they are away. Recently I joined the SPCA foster family program, and have begun fostering an anxious kitty who has made great progress in my care.

This was my first experience using Rover and from start to finish it has been excellent. From the meetup to all of the updates, I was able to be away from her knowing that she was in very safe knowledgeable and loving hands. I will definitely be rebooking
