Pet care experience
Experienced, Calm Pet Care
Hello, Angie here! I’m a lifelong animal lover and experienced pet and house sitter who has had the wonderful opportunity to care for animals both locally and around the world. My pet-sitting adventures began while traveling internationally. I spent eight months traveling throughout New Zealand while caring for some truly wonderful animals, followed by sits in Toronto, Panama, Asheville, Cape Cod, and the Philippines. One of my most memorable experiences was helping care for a mother dog and her litter of six puppies on the beach in Palawan. Over the years, I’ve cared for miniature and small dogs, Rottweilers, Boxers, Labradors, Sheepdogs, cats and kittens, newborn puppies, birds, horses, sheep, goats, and large multi-pet households. I also have experience with elderly and special-needs animals and have followed detailed medication, feeding, and care schedules. These days, I would especially love to develop local relationships with a few wonderful pets and become a familiar, trusted sitter they are genuinely happy to see. I know how much trust it takes to leave a beloved animal and home in someone else's care. My goal is always for you to feel completely comfortable leaving, knowing that your pets will receive genuine affection, attentive care, and plenty of communication while you're away. Background: I’m originally from Osterville, MA, I gathered a B.A. in both Anthropology and Geography in Hawaii then began a professional career in biological research with the USDA, marketing and design, and remote independent work. I have been an independent traveler since 2014, occasionally setting off on journeys around the world for up to a year at a time, working and volunteering along the way as a teacher, builder, painter, farm hand, and in a variety of community projects.

Safety, trust & environment
I begin by listening carefully to you. Every household and every animal has its own rhythm from the time breakfast happens, which door gets used for walks, where the treats live, the evening ritual, favorite sleeping spot, medication schedule, little household rules, and all the quirky things pets simply expect because that is how their world works. My goal is to step into that world rather than rearrange it. During our Meet & Greet, I like to walk through your pet’s normal routine and care needs carefully so that nothing important is overlooked. Once you leave, I try to keep their days as familiar and consistent as possible. I’m highly adaptable, comfortable in many different environments, quite handy, observant, and blessed with good common sense. I also take a great deal of pride in my integrity and in treating someone else's home with respect while being mindful of security, potential hazards, cleanliness, and house rules. I’m happy to follow detailed instructions, administer medications I’m comfortable with, keep an eye on household matters if needed, collect mail, water plants, and generally make sure you return to both a happy pet and a secure, well-cared-for home. Most importantly, I genuinely enjoy the animals themselves. I’ve greatly missed having my own pets during years of travel, so it really is a privilege for me to temporarily become part of the little world you share with yours. I've greatly missed the comfort of my own beloved pets and enjoy the privilege of lending love and care to your sweet pets and critters.
Ratings and reviews
Angelica was wonderful! She was so kind and patient with our boy, Apollo. She was attentive, communicative, and made sure we felt at ease while we were away. It was clear that she genuinely cared for him, sending regular updates, photos, and taking the time to understand his personality and needs.

Angie’s great. She always sends lots of photos of the dogs. You know she really enjoys being with our two dogs because she spends a lot of time in the backyard playing fetch. She always the best house guest, going above and beyond cleaning after she’s been at our house. Trust her 100%.

Angelica is so great! My dog is being a bit protective so we are booking walks up until I have Angelica stay at my house. She is so patient and send pictures on every walk. She has been wonderful!
Angie was fabulous! She came over and did a meet & greet first. She took the pups on nice long walks and gave me detailed reports on how they were doing everyday, with cute pics. She made sure during bad weather they were as comfortable as possible. And she even cleaned the house/sheets after her stay! I couldn't have asked for a better house guest/caregiver. Absolutely wonderful.

Angelica is GREAT! She puppy-sat for us while we had a much-needed night out (not that I don't love a 3-month old pitbull, but lord he's exhausting!) Believe me when I say: I am a crazy dog mom. I left poor Angie with a TWO-PAGE instruction sheet when she was watching Bellamy for about 3 hours. And she took it all in stride. I feel like I could have instructed her to sing him a lullaby at bedtime and she would have been like, "No problemo!" Bellamy LOVES HER. He gets so excited when she comes to see him. She cuddles with him, does training with him, and gives him lots of playtime and love. She actually got him to go on a decent walk, which he won't even do for me! She just has one of those personalities that dogs gravitate to! But what I mostly appreciate about Angie is how flexible and accommodating she is. I've had to cancel a couple of times and it's never a hassle with her. I feel comfortable communicating with her (and this is from someone with social anxiety!) because she communicates back in such a friendly, approachable, professional way. I don't trust most people with my dog. I don't trust my friends, my coworkers, even my family. But I trust Angie bcs she knows what she's doing and she keeps me informed. Highly, HIGHLY recommended.

Angelica was great! I felt very at ease while she was staying with our babies. Would definitely recommend her services!

Schedule
I’m an independent contractor with a very flexible schedule and the ability to work remotely, so I can generally arrange my days around the needs and normal routine of the pets in my care. Under circumstances where a pet is accustomed to being comfortably alone for part of the day, I typically spend about five hours at my local office on Mon., Wed., and Fri. Outside of that, I’m generally working remotely or nearby. That schedule is not something I impose on a pet, however. If your dog or cat is accustomed to having someone home throughout the day, requires more frequent attention, or simply does best with more companionship, I’m very happy to stay put and work remotely, leaving only for normal errands when appropriate. My preference is always to understand what their normal life looks like and preserve it as closely as possible. The less their world changes while you’re away, the more comfortable they tend to be. Please note that I’m not able to provide transportation for pets, so veterinary appointments or activities requiring vehicle transportation would need to be arranged separately.

- I just want to know how you know your pet. Tell me about their personality, routine, favorite things, funny habits, fears, energy level, sleeping arrangements, feeding schedule, medications, and anything else that helps make their world feel normal. For dogs, I also appreciate knowing honestly how they behave on leash, around unfamiliar people, around other animals, and when left alone. Please let me know about any significant reactivity, aggression, bite history, escape tendencies, destructive separation anxiety, or other behavioral needs beforehand. None of that is about expecting a perfectly behaved animal—pets are individuals, and quirks come with the territory. I simply believe that knowing the full picture allows us to decide whether we’re a genuinely good match and allows me to care for them properly from the beginning. Our Meet & Greet is where we’ll walk through all of this together, let your pet get acquainted with me, and make sure everyone feels comfortable before you head away.
