When your pup or kitty is in our home, there are two of us to give them all the love, play time and cuddles they desire. I work from home and Victoria is home all day as well. My son also is currently working from home and enjoys playing and cuddling with all the dogs and will assist when needed. Your furry family member will never be bored with all the toys and activities we do on a daily basis, to not only use their muscles but to stimulate their minds as well. We are constantly adding new toys and activities so there is always something new and exciting happening at From Paws to Claws Family Pet Care

Safety, trust & environment

We have a fenced yard, but we believe dogs need to go on walks to explore and use their nose. We do a wide variety of activities throughout the day, including playing tug of war, fetch and chase and working on basic training. We ensure your pup has plenty of other exercise including indoor playtime with lots of toys and if possible, we will also sometimes attend a small leash free dog par (where we know the other owners and dogs that attend the park), go hiking, or to a dog beach with pawrents permission of course, on weekends or in the evenings, for socialization and more outdoor playtime/exercise. We also will fill the doggie pool and or put on the splash pad in our backyard for pups to cool off on those hot summer days, for dogs that like the water. We also believe that dogs need to stimulate their minds as well as having regular exercise. We use puzzle feeders, snuffle mats and even a ball pit and tunnels to encourage and stimulate their minds.

A typical day

Dogs are let out to go potty when they wake and have breakfast when they would normally have breakfast at home. Then have playtime with toys and go for morning walks around the neighbourhood and local park; pups play together all day, but we like to include mental stimulation by working on some basic training commands and other brain stimulating activities including doing scent games and puzzles as well as sometimes the ball pit; We feed pups dinner based on their normal dinner schedule at home and whether they require any medication. We go for evening walks along the park trail which depending on weather can be anywhere from 45 mins to 2 hours. This also depends on the energy level of the pup.

Pet care experience

AS WE CARE FOR DOGS THAT ARE IMMUNO COMPROMISED WE ARE UNABLE TO SIT FOR ANY DOG ON A RAW FOOD DIET OR THAT IS NOT UP-TO-DATE ON VACCINATIONS WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE With Victoria's diploma from Sheridan College in Animal Care, experience working in a vet clinic and grooming salon and our personal experience of caring for and raising everything from dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters and lizards. We have turned our combined knowledge and passion for animals into a second home for the pets in our community. We pride ourselves on providing the same level of care for your furbaby that we provide to our own furbabies and it shows by how excited they are to come see us and their friends. We have many years of experience in caring for and training puppies including working on house training and other basic commands. We also have experience working with anxious and nervous dogs, including dogs with severe separation anxiety, dogs that have had bad boarding experiences, dogs that are nervous around other dogs and rescues. We also have experience working with dogs with behaviour issues such as counter surfing, resource guarding, digging and other issues, such as jumping on visitors, charging the door, biting while playing and when a dog is in our care we can work on correcting those behaviours, by applying what you have been doing at home or by making other suggestions to assist you in training. We have experience in caring for diabetic dogs and are able to give insulin or other injections and monitor blood sugar levels. We also have many years of experience in caring for senior pets and their needs, including giving oral medication. We have cared for pets with a variety of anxiety issues, medical issues, special needs and dietary restrictions. Pepper and I give Angela & Victoria five paws out of five! Pepper would happily stay there again. They treated her like family, kept her happy, and made her tail wag nonstop. Pepper made new dog friends, ran zoomies until she got tired. They knew exactly how to make a good pup feel safe and at home.
