Pet care experience

Keeping your pup active!

Hi! I’m Andy, a lifelong dog lover with a passion for keeping pups happy, safe, and well cared for. Growing up with a boxer named Peyton taught me about companionship, responsibility, and how to understand a dog’s needs from puppyhood to their senior years. I’ve been around dogs of all sizes and temperaments, thanks to friends and family, and I love getting to know their unique personalities. In November 2024, we added Groot, our energetic Standard Australian Shepherd, to the family! He’s always up for a run or a new training session, and he reminds me every day why I love doing this. My goal is to provide safe, quality care for your furry family member — treating them like one of my own, making sure they’re happy, comfortable, and well loved while you’re away.

Schedule

I work full‑time as a Wellness Coordinator at Stoughton Health, which allows me to help care for your pup in the evenings and on weekends. I also get off work early on Thursdays, making it a great day for longer walks, training, or extra playtime. For boarding, your dog will have plenty of attention and potty breaks throughout the day. My wife works from home three days a week, and on the other days I run home during lunch to let Groot out, ensuring he (and your pup!) get regular breaks and attention. Whether your furry friend needs a jog to burn off energy, a quiet walk, or some help reinforcing good behavior, I’m dedicated to making sure they’re happy, safe, and well‑cared‑for. Your pup’s well‑being is always my top priority!

Safety, trust & environment

Safety, trust, and a comfortable environment are the foundation of my approach to dog care. I understand how important it is for your pup to feel secure, cared for, and loved — just as I do with my own dog, Groot. At our home, your dog will be treated like part of the family. We have a guest bedroom available if your dog needs their own space to relax and settle in. During walks and playtime, I provide close supervision to ensure their safety and well‑being at all times. I use positive reinforcement to build trust, create a rewarding experience, and help every pup feel comfortable and confident. Let’s work together to keep your dog happy, active, and thriving — whether it’s at my place or yours!

Pets

A typical day

Each day with your pup is tailored to their energy, interests, and comfort level. We might start with a walk around the neighborhood, a trip to a nearby park, or a nature trail for some sights and sniffs. At home, we’ll play interactive games like fetch, tug‑of‑war, or puzzle toys to keep their mind and body engaged. For high‑energy dogs, I’m happy to incorporate a jog or a longer run to help them burn off that extra pep. If your pup is more laid‑back, we can relax with cuddle breaks or short, gentle strolls. I’m also open to adding in any training exercises or special activities you’d like to focus on, making sure every moment is a rewarding, safe, and enjoyable experience for your furry friend!

Knowing as much as possible about your pet in advance is crucial for making sure they have a safe, comfortable, and happy experience. Please have any essentials like toys, leashes, food, medications, poop bags, and treat pouches available when needed. Important information to share includes: Temperament and behavior (any triggers, fears, or quirks) Medical history and dietary restrictions Favorite activities, toys, and ways to relax Level of socialization with other animals and people Training commands or routines you use at home If your dog will be boarding with us, it’s required that they be comfortable with other dogs. We’ll also schedule a meet‑and‑greet with Groot before finalizing the booking, to ensure both dogs get along and feel safe in the same space. By sharing these details upfront, I can create a personalized care plan that prioritizes your pet’s well‑being, comfort, and happiness every step of the way!
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
