Sharing love - in memory of Henry💕
Hi, we are Nicky and Andrew and have grown up with dogs in the family. When we got married we were delighted to welcome Henry, our Chocolate Labrador into our lives. Henry was 3 months old when he came to live with us, and 12 years old when he ascended into dog heaven. Henry gave Nicky and I an incredible 12 years of memories, and we gave him the best life and a wonderful family to spend his life with. He was undoubtedly a best friend to us both and enriched our lives. We vowed not to have another dog of our own after Henry, but instead to look after the many dogs (all ages and sizes) Over the years we have got used to the individual personalities, idiosyncrasies, diets, sleeping preferences and other habits of many dogs - it's what Henry would have wanted! ❤️ . Dogs come back to us again and again because they have so much fun and their owners know their dogs are safe, loved, and well looked after in our hands. Not to mention the three walks per day, treats, snuggles and tummy rubs which all come as standard. When we look after a dog it becomes central to our life and planning. Our weekends are built around walking and going to dog-friendly places such as cafe's and pubs - we never leave dogs on their own for long periods - the dog becomes an extension of us and our life.

I am so so grateful to Andrew and Nicky for their amazing care of my elderly lab, George, this past week. They have truly treated him as though he is a part of their family and shown him so much love and care. George is 14 and can be high maintenance at times but Andrew and Nicky completely adapted to his needs and made sure he felt comfortable day and night. I was sent regular updates about George’s day which myself and my children really appreciated. I couldn’t think of a better family to leave him with. Thank you so so much!
From our first meet and greet with Andrew and Nicky we felt confident that our dog Amber was in safe hands. She stayed with them for 6 nights and had the best time visiting family with them, staying over in a hotel, visiting pubs and even the garden centre. Our nervousness at how she would behave as she does have some anxiety issues around other dogs did not faze Andrew and Nicky, they are extremely compassionate and caring. Amber had a wonderful time and I only wish we had found them sooner!! Thank you both!🥰

Milo had a great time whilst staying with Andrew and Nicky. With him being a puppy(6 months) he comes with lots of baggage but nothing was too much trouble. We were naturally worried about leaving him for his first time but it was such a relief to find someone as friendly and accommodating as Andrew and Nicky - the meet and greets were very reassuring. He went out for lots of walks and even a visit to the pub! We don't go away without Milo too often, so wont be regulars with boarding, but we desperately hope they have availability the next time we do need them. Thank-you both once again!
Andrew & Nicky are the most caring, considerate, dog loving couple you could ever wish to have, to look after your dog. Martha was cared for with lots of love and snuggles, on the sofa. She was well exercised and slept and ate very well whilst in their care. 100% certain Martha will want to return in the future.
We couldn’t have asked for a better couple to look after our dogs while we were away. From the moment we met them, they were warm, friendly, and clearly genuine animal lovers, which immediately put us at ease. They had the absolute best time — it was obvious they were well cared for, happy, and comfortable throughout their stay. We loved receiving updates and could tell they were being treated like part of the family. It’s such a relief knowing we can go away and trust that our dogs are in such kind and capable hands. We would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone and wouldn’t hesitate to book them again in the future.

Schedule
Andrew and Nicky are both senior healthcare professionals and who are passionate about providing a warm and loving home for dogs, who become a central part of our daily and weekly routines. Nicky works from home all week and will sometimes leave the house to attend meetings for a maximum of up to four hours. Andrew works in a hybrid manner frequently spends part of the week working at home and some of the week working away. Neither Nicky or Andrew work at the weekend or bank holidays. Between Thursday evening until Monday both Andrew and Nicky are both at home. We love to spend our weekends outside, walking and having fresh-air and exercise. We do everything possible to provide a happy and relaxed experience for the dogs we look after.

Safety, trust & environment
We have a detached house with a large secure garden at the rear. We don't mind muddy and wet dogs - in fact, if they are not muddy and wet they probably haven't had a proper walk! (we provide towels to dry off after play time). If your dog prefers to sleep upstairs or downstairs then that is fine with us. We just want your dog to be comfortable and reduce their anxiety. We have many long, country walks which start from our doorstep without having to drive. We also have many local parts which are a short drive away - Whittaker Park, Burrs Park and Townley Park which we regularly visit. At a weekend we often go further afield into Yorkshire dales, Lake District or Derbyshire for longer walks. We use air-tags which are attached to the dogs collar or harness at all times, which link to our mobile phones for additional safety, assurance and peace of mind.
A typical day
A typical day during the week will include 3 open country walks (morning, lunchtime and evening) plus a final night-time quick 'final wee walk' before bedtime. At the weekend we will do a longer walk and spend the days together, including cafe's, pub lunch and visiting dog loving friends.
