I work from home, so I have flexibility to fit pet care into my daily routine. My meeting schedule varies, but I can adjust to make sure pets get regular walks, potty breaks, meals, and attention. I’m generally most flexible on evenings and weekends, but I can often make daytime care work too with a little advance notice.

Safety, trust & environment
When pets are in my home, they’ll be in a safe apartment environment with access to designated dog relief areas in my building. I’ve spent years walking my own dog around the neighborhood and know the best routes and safe spots. I don’t have a yard, but I make up for it with walks, playtime, and lots of attention. NOTE: During the summer months, my neighborhood has a lot of fireworks. If your dog is bothered by them, please keep that in mind when booking with me! If I’m caring for pets in your home, I respect your space and follow your instructions closely to keep pets happy and on their normal routine. Whether in my home or yours, I treat pets like family and make sure they feel secure, loved, and cared for.

Information Andrew M. would like to know about your pet
It’s helpful to know each pet’s personality, energy level, habits, and any medical needs, medications, or special diets. I also appreciate guidance on preferences for walks, play, or alone time. Knowing these details ensures I can provide care tailored to their needs, keep them safe, happy, and comfortable, and maintain their usual routine. I’m comfortable with senior pets and pets with special needs. While daytime walks are local, I can take dogs to nearby Humboldt Park if that’s something they would enjoy. Please share any tips that help them feel at home and enjoy their time with me.
A typical day
A typical day with me starts with walks around the neighborhood or building’s dog relief area, followed by playtime, belly rubs, training refreshers, snacks, and cozy downtime. I adapt activities to each pet’s energy level, from games for dogs with some energy to burn, to slow strolls or gentle cuddles for seniors. If a dog enjoys a change of scenery, I can also take them to nearby Humboldt Park for extra walks or playtime. Every day includes attention, love, and keeping routines consistent so pets feel happy, secure, and cared for while you’re away.

Lifelong Animal Caretaker
Pet care experience
I’ve been surrounded by animals my whole life—at one point, my family had 9 dogs, 20 birds, reptiles, and fish tanks. Since then, I’ve cared for friends’ and neighbors’ pets, plus my own senior dog who needed daily meds and special attention. That experience taught me patience, adaptability, and how to keep pets comfortable at every stage of life. I have experience giving medications (pills and eye drops) and following special routines. What sets me apart is the genuine love I bring to every pet I care for—I recently lost my own senior dog, and I’m excited to share that love with the pets of others.
Reviews

Andrew is amazing!! This was our first time boarding Moose (we usually have someone come to the house because he has some separation anxiety). Andrew made us feel totally comfortable & confident that Moose was in very capable hands. Andrew handled all our dog's little quirks in stride & kept us updated throughout the stay with cute pictures. Moose was clearly made to feel at home & was able to stay in his routine, which helped immensely. Andrew clearly loves dogs & is more than well-equipped to care for them (even the quirky ones). We will be booking with Andrew again without hesitation!

Andrew was fantastic! He was so accommodating, from our meet and greet, overnight stay, and pick up. Each update he offered put us at ease, knowing our dog was in great hands. Would definitely book again in the future!
Andrew was very attentive with my nervous dog. He gave him space but was aware of his needs. Def booking again!
Terrific service and great communication. Would definitely trust to take care of our cat again. Highly recommended!!!
