Attentive Pet Caretaker
I grew up with two Shelties, Kenzie and Cody, who we raised from puppies. Since moving to Kansas, I have established myself as a reliable caretaker of friends' dogs and houses while they are away. I am experienced with both rambunctious puppies and sleepy seniors, though I admit I have a special place in my heart for senior canines and felines. I can handle medications (pills, liquids, powders, chews) and special diets. I am comfortable taking two dogs on a walk at the same time and am familiar with various harnesses and gentle leaders. Rain, snow, or heat - I can give your dog their exercise. I am also a cat owner of two, Stormy and Dean, and dedicated cat uncle for my friends' feline companions. Medication and special diets are no trouble at all. I can handle everything from boisterous kittens and grumpy seniors.

Safety, trust & environment
While in my care, your pet is my priority. I will make sure they get all required feedings, medications, and walks with as little disruption to their normal schedule as possible. I am respectful of your home and space, whether I am only dropping in to take your dog out for a walk, or if I am housesitting full time. I can handle watering plants and adjusting sprinklers as well. I ask only for clear, written instructions so I know exactly what you need for me to do, what areas are off-limits, where cleaning and cooking supplies are, etc. I am happy to take your dog on outings to local dogs parks or exciting adventures to the Wetlands and other local parks, if desired. I don't mind dogs in my car and am a safe driver (no citations in ten years of driving). If your dog accompanies me to my home for brief visits, I will monitor them the whole time with my cats. Both of them are accepting of dogs and are accustomed to visits. For dogs and cats, I am happy to play with them or just be a cuddle buddy. I am used to being a pillow for my own cats.

Unfortunately, Andy did not show up to our scheduled drop in and did not respond to messages for several hours after our scheduled time. We did not continue services with him after this incident.
Andrew did very well in taking care of companion, Marcy. He sent photos and responded immediately when we communicated with him. We were away for 8 days and so thankful that Andrew was here. Before leaving, our car would not start,, and Andrew kindly offered a jumpstart, which we agreed to, and this enabled us to be on our way as planned. Thank you, Andrew!
Andrew was a wonderful sitter for our 3 pets. He responded quickly to my inquiry message and was able to meet our pets on super short notice after another pet sitter ghosted us the day before our trip. He sent photos and kept us updated on how our fur babies were doing. He was respectful of our home and left everything neat and tidy! We will definitely use Andrew again!

Schedule
I am currently working on my dissertation and am a TA part-time, so I have plenty of time to care for your pets! I do have two cats of my own who need my attention at least in the morning and evening, so I cannot be in your home fully 24/7, but I can easily split my time. If your dog is friendly with cats, then we can discuss them coming with me for feedings - my cats are both accepting of dogs.
