Availability

I currently work from home on Mondays and Tuesdays, which gives me flexibility for dog walks during the day. I’m available for walks during my lunch break (between 11:30am–2pm) and after work from 5pm onwards. Wednesdays are less flexible, but I may still have limited availability depending on the week. I’m generally available most weekends at any time, so I can be more flexible to suit your dog’s routine.

Safety, trust & environment

I have experience caring for dogs of different ages, sizes and personalities through both personal ownership and my volunteering with the RSPCA. This has given me confidence working with a range of temperaments, including dogs who may be nervous, shy or simply need a little extra patience to feel comfortable. For added peace of mind, I am DBS checked and have completed Canine First Aid Level 2 (VTQ) training, covering CPR, choking, bleeding control, seizures and other common canine emergencies. Your dog’s safety, wellbeing and happiness will always be my top priority. Every dog is different, so I believe walks should be tailored to their individual needs. Whether your dog enjoys a brisk walk, a slower-paced stroll or plenty of time to sniff and explore, I aim to provide a positive experience that leaves them happy, enriched and looking forward to their next adventure.

Information Andrew C. would like to know about your pet

Before caring for your dog, I’d appreciate as much information as possible to help keep them safe, happy and comfortable. Please let me know about any medical conditions, medications, allergies, dietary requirements, behavioural concerns, or special care needs. It’s also helpful to understand your dog’s personality, routine, likes and dislikes, as well as how they typically interact with other dogs, people and new environments. If they have any fears, triggers, training requirements or lead-walking preferences, please let me know so I can provide the best possible experience. I also ask that owners provide up-to-date emergency contact details, veterinary information and any other important information that may be needed in the unlikely event of an emergency.

A typical day

Every walk is tailored to your dog’s individual needs, energy levels and preferences. I like to vary walking routes where possible to keep things interesting, providing plenty of opportunities for exercise, enrichment and exploring new sights and smells. Where appropriate and with your permission, I will make use of suitable parks and open spaces to allow for safe off-lead time, helping your dog burn energy and enjoy more freedom. For dogs that prefer to stay on lead, walks will be adapted to ensure they remain comfortable, safe and engaged. My aim is for every walk to be a positive experience, combining exercise, mental stimulation and plenty of attention, so your dog returns home happy, content and ready for a well-earned rest.

Pet care experience

I’m a friendly, reliable and DBS checked dog walker with hands-on experience from owning dogs over the years, as well as volunteering with the RSPCA in dog care. I’m comfortable with a range of breeds, sizes and temperaments, including rescue and nervous dogs, and I always take the time to understand each dog’s individual needs. Whether your dog needs a relaxed stroll or a more energetic walk, I’ll make sure they’re safe, happy and well cared for. I know how important trust is when it comes to your pet, so I’ll always provide a calm, caring approach, keep you updated, and treat your dog as if they were my own. 🐾

Andrew helped us out in a tight spot when we needed last-minute care for a family member’s dog that we were looking after. He responded quickly and arranged a meet-and-greet with Zuko the very next day. On the day, Andrew arrived on time, kept us updated, and made sure Zuko got all the attention he needed. He was even more prepared than we were, bringing a small towel to dry Zuko off after he got caught in the rain. I would highly recommend Andrew and will definitely be asking for his help again in the future with our puppy.

Andy has been a volunteer with our team for more than a year, during which he has consistently shown himself to be a kind and compassionate person. He has dedicated ample time to walking a diverse range of dogs, always exhibiting a gentle approach. Additionally, he is extremely dependable.

Andy was always very punctual and kind, caring and conscientious. We had a very large golden doodle who could be very excitable (and strong!) on walking, but that was never a problem for Andy. She was always so very excited to see him and they had a lovely bond between them. Unfortunately she has now passed, but if we were to get another dog (of any type or breed), we would most certainly and happily call on his services again. Cannot recommend Andy highly enough.
