We live in the countryside, surrounded by nature, in a double house with a garden. Our garden isn’t fenced, but our dog is used to being outside and knows her territory well. Visiting dogs are always supervised outside and never left alone. I mostly work from home, and my partner and I make sure that one of us is always around, so dogs are rarely on their own. Our dog sleeps in our bedroom and has one of her beds there. Visiting dogs are welcome to sleep according to their own habits, but not in the bed. I’ve grown up with dogs and have direct pet-sitting experience: we’ve had visiting dogs stay with us, and I have also stayed at a friend’s home to care for one of her foster dogs. I work for a pet-friendly company, so both my dog and I are used to being around dogs with very different personalities. Our dog is calm, friendly, and often gives other dogs a sense of safety and emotional support. Since our dog’s wellbeing is very important to us, a meet-and-greet is required to make sure all dogs feel comfortable and safe. She gets along well with other dogs, and we aim to create a calm, safe, and caring environment.
