A Happy Stay While You’re Away
Hi, I’m Andrea! I’ve been caring for dogs for more than 20 years, including my own beloved dog, who was part of our family for 16 years. I know how hard it is to leave your dog when you travel. My goal is to give them something that feels less like “boarding” and more like a second home. Dogs who stay with me become part of our everyday life. They’re with us while we’re relaxing at home, working, playing outside and going for walks. I learn their normal feeding, walking and sleeping routines and try to keep things as familiar as possible while their family is away. I’m proud to have 31 five-star reviews and 8 repeat Rover clients, including dogs I’ve cared for during extended stays. The greatest compliment I get is hearing that a dog came home happy and relaxed—or that they’re excited when they realize they’re coming back. I have experience with senior dogs and can administer oral medication. I’m also happy to adapt walks, activity and routines for dogs who need a little extra care. We currently have no resident pets, so visiting dogs get plenty of attention. I do sometimes host more than one dog, but I’m thoughtful about temperament and compatibility and will always let you know about overlapping stays. And expect pictures! I send regular updates because I know how reassuring it is to see that your dog is happy while you’re away. My goal is simple: you enjoy your trip, and your dog enjoys theirs.

I live on a quiet street in the heart of McLean, with two balconies and a fenced in back patio—perfect for relaxing or letting pets hang out safely. There are some great trails nearby, so if your dog loves adventure, we’re definitely hitting those for walks. When pets stay with us, safety is always the priority. The balconies are secure, and I’m with them at all times in the patio. If I’m watching them at your place, I’ll respect your home’s setup and keep an eye on any hazards, making sure they’re in a safe environment. I occasionally host more than one dog at a time. When stays overlap, I’m transparent with owners beforehand and careful about which dogs I host together. My priority is always keeping everyone comfortable and safe. Whether they’re at my place or yours, they get full access to the house—inside, outside, and all the cozy spots in between. I’m all about creating a safe, comfortable space where your pet can explore without worry. No stress, no kennels, just love, good vibes, and a commitment to keeping your furry friend safe while they have a blast.
A typical day
A typical day looks like this: We start with a morning stretch and some quick cuddles—gotta kick things off right, right? Then it’s time for a nice long walk on the nearby trails. It’s the perfect way to wake up, get some exercise, and let your pup sniff around and explore. After our adventure, we’ll come back for breakfast, and then it’s playtime before my son heads out for school. Whether that’s tossing a ball in the yard or some indoor games, we keep the energy up. Once we start working, we’ll have them right there with us, so they can lounge around or get some extra attention between meetings. Lunchtime rolls around, and if it’s nice out, we might head to the patio for some fresh air and sunshine. In the afternoon, we might hit the trails again for another walk or explore the neighborhood. By the time evening comes, it’s all about winding down—maybe a little more playtime and lots of snuggles on the couch while we watch TV. Before bed, we wrap up with another short walk. It’s a full day of fun, love, and safety, making sure your pet feels right at home!

If they have specific dietary restrictions, health issues, or just need extra TLC, we want to know it all. Safety and comfort are our top priorities, so the more I know, the better I can care for them. Finally, if there are any rules or routines you follow, let us in on those too! Your pet’s happiness and well-being are what matter most, and we want to make sure we keep everything on track.
