Availability

On weekends, I’m available the entire day(s) and can fully cater to your dog’s needs. Whether it’s playing, walking, or cuddles, I’m here to provide it for your pup! I offer both dog walking and boarding services during weekdays and weekends. I’m a full-time science teacher, working weekdays from 8 AM to 4 PM. While I’m away during the day, your pup would need to be comfortable being alone for 8+ hours without a potty break. That said, as soon as I’m home, we make up for lost time with a long walk or hike—so your dog will still get plenty of exercise, attention, and love. If your dog is okay with the weekday routine, they’ll enjoy a calm, caring home and plenty of outdoor fun once the workday is done.

In my home, your pup will be treated like one of the family. I live in a spacious apartment with plenty of room to play, nap, and relax. My dog, Hazel, is super friendly and loves having a buddy around, so your dog will have a built-in companion during their stay! We stick to a comfortable routine; shorter walks in the morning and evening, a longer walk or outing during the day, and plenty of hangout time in between. On weekends, we love hitting the local trails for longer adventures. If I’m caring for your pup in your home, I’ll do my best to keep things as close to their normal routine as possible. I’ll follow your instructions carefully and send regular updates (with photos, of course!). Hazel and I will make sure your pup feels safe, loved, and totally at home!

Information Andrea K. would like to know about your pet

Before watching your pup, I like to get a good idea of their personality and routine so I can make sure they feel comfortable and safe. It’s super helpful to know things like: are they good with other dogs? Do they have any food or toy guarding? Any quirks or triggers I should know about such as bikes, loud noises, or certain types people? Are they allowed off leash and do they have good recall? I also like to know if they’re crate trained, where they usually sleep, how they do on walks, and if they have any allergies or need meds. Basically, anything that helps me make their stay as smooth and stress free as possible! The more I know ahead of time, the better I can take care of them just like you would.

A typical day

I love keeping the dogs I watch active, happy, and mentally stimulated. Hazel and I are big fans of the outdoors, so if your pup enjoys it too, we’ll go on long walks, hikes on nearby trails, and even swimming if the weather’s nice! On days when the weather isn’t ideal, I make sure they’re still entertained indoors using puzzle toys, snuffle mats, and the typical fetch or tug. I also love teaching or reinforcing fun tricks if your pup is into it (nothing too serious, of course). Of course, there’s always plenty times for cuddles and naps. Every dog is different and I will do whatever they need to stay content while their people are away :).

Pet care experience

Hi there! My name is Andrea. I moved to Vermont 8 months ago with my dog, Hazel. We have been loving all the outdoor adventures VT has to offer! As we have settled, I realized I really missed dog sitting. I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life, but I have a huge soft spot for dogs. Plus, Hazel loves dogs way more than humans and would love to make some new friends! We live in a spacious apartment conveniently located near a bike path and several beautiful trails. On weekdays, we enjoy 3–4 mile walks or hikes, and on weekends, we love exploring longer outdoor adventures together. Whether your dog is full of energy or prefers a slower pace, I’m happy to tailor our time together to meet their needs. I have experience caring for dogs at every stage of life, including seniors, and feel confident handling any special requirements they may have.

Andrea is great! She took excellent care of our sweet Daisy. Our girl has some separation anxiety but bonded with Andrea's sweet pup right away and generally lived her best life while we were gone. Daisy had a medical snafu and Andrea was great with communication, handled the vet visit and everything. We feel really comfortable leaving our pup in such great hands while we're gone.

Andrea is a wonderful dog sitter. My dog, Vizhna, is young and can be timid and anxious. Andrea was very patient and rolled with everything that came up. Her dog, Hazel, was a good "big sister" for my dog and helped V settle in and get comfortable at Andrea's apartment. V got multiple walks each day and lots of playtime with the other dogs. Andrea was amazing with thorough communication and took all of the info I gave her about V and incorporated that into her care.

Andrea has an incredible gift when it comes to caring for dogs. I’ve never seen a dog that didn’t instantly take a liking to her. She has a calm, confident presence that even the most challenging dogs respond well to. She not only knows how to interact and play with dogs, but she also understands their needs and personalities. Whether it’s making sure they get enough exercise, attention, or simply a bit of affection, she handles it all with patience and love. Andrea has cared for my dog, Aly, on multiple occasions. Aly is challenging in that she doesn’t interact well with other dogs, plus she has multiple medical issues that require medications and a prescription diet. Andrea has tons of patience with Aly, handles all her specific medical issues with ease, and has even gotten Aly to tolerate being around other dogs. I would trust Andrea with any pet without hesitation!
