The Dachs Inn, Dachshund Specialist
We nicknamed our home The Dachs Inn - a weenie wonderland! We’ve cared for Dachshunds for 15 years and specialize in meeting the unique needs of this breed, including dog ramps on our furniture and deck. Our home features a dog door with all-day access to a giant backyard for potty breaks, play time, sunbathing and squirrels!!! Plush dog beds are placed through the home and a giant sectional provides the perfect spot for cuddle time. Daily walks are provided, we even have a dog stroller for senior dogs or those dachshunds suffering from IVDD.

I couldn’t be more thankful to find this crew! I have never felt so comfortable and care-free with a sitter, nor have my dogs been so relaxed from day one. Andrea and Jeff were communicative, kind, welcoming, and the love they have for their own dogs was evident. Unfortunately, they have no choice but to be our sitters for eternity!
Scooby, our 3-month-old pup had a fantastic stay at Allison and Jeff's home. The home is very welcoming, everything is set up for the dogs, ramps, easy access to outside and most importantly all the loving care they gave to Scooby while he was there. It was our first time leaving him so I appreciated the daily updates, pictures, and Allison patiently answering any questions I had. I also appreciated she sent me home with tips on food, nail trimming, and potty training which he's still working on. I 100% recommend a stay with Allison and Jeff and their three beautiful dogs who Scooby made friends with.
We love having our dog stay here with other dachshund. She always has such a good time and loves being around Allison and Jeff. Very dachshund-friendly set up inside.
Andrea and Jeffrey were amazing with my doxie mix, Penny! I highly recommend them and will most definitely be using them again myself.
Alison was so attentive and caring for our dogs. She went above and beyond to be sure they were taken well care of and felt loved while we were away. She also was so good about proving updates and communicating regularly. I truly knew my dogs were in good hands and was able to be away and focus on other matters. Thank you Alison!!!!
Andrea took fantastic care of my dachshund Nellie. She regularly provided photo updates and showed me all of the activities Nellie was up to. She was timely and consistent with Nellie’s routine health maintenance needs as well (medications, teeth brushing, etc). Nellie has trouble with gaining weight when she is away from home and Andrea was able to regularly weigh her as well. Nellie has a great time staying over there and loves playing in the backyard and chasing the squirrels.

Programa
I work remotely from home full time and, along with my retired husband, provide hourly drop-in care, play dates, overnight and extended boarding in our home. Additionally, I provide home visits and walking services to families located on the west side of Colorado Springs. Other locations throughout Colorado are considered on case-by-case request for extended care in your home (5 or more days).

I have three dachshunds, ages 15, 10, and under 1 year. My dog-friendly home has a fenced back yard, we feed all visiting dogs separately, and can provide daily pictures of your baby’s activities. I can also provide regular weigh-ins, medications, and teeth brushing. I am very active and love going on long walks/hikes (up to three miles) upon request. While I prefer to host only smaller dogs in our home, I am open to all breeds for care at your home - including drop-ins, walks, and house sitting. I kindly ask that all dogs are current on all vaccinations, including kennel cough. For medical emergencies, we are established at Westside Animal Hospital, The Animal Clinic of Woodland Park, and the Emergency Pet Center.

We specialize care based on the dog’s age and activity level. We take daily walks to the park, and well-conditioned dogs get extended walks. The weens are free to play in our large backyard. We have treat puzzles to test your dogs scent skills and often play fetch. We generally start our day with a 7am feeding, potty time and open play. I start remote work at 8am and the weens generally make their way into my office for a post-breakfast nap. I take work breaks throughout the day and play with the pups as I water my garden. My husband and I take the dogs for a walk around mid-day (earlier if warm). Evening meal time is at 5:30 and is usually followed up with a second, 30-min walk for young/high energy dogs. Then it is couch cuddle time. We ensure each ween has peed before bedtime, and we hit the hay around 9:30.
