Availability
I work from home so I am with our furred guests during most of their stay. On the weekends, we may run a few errands and be gone for a few hours at a time but we keep it at a minimum when we are sitting.

Information Andrea E. would like to know about your pet
No breed preferences but they must be kid, dog-friendly and potty-trained. We have a gentle giant--Great Dane. As he is getting older, the best fit in our house seems to be more laid back, lower-anxiety dogs, especially if they're large. High-energy, smaller pups are fine. Bigger dogs who are bursting with energy get a little frustrated that Max won't play as much as he used to.
A typical day
We will walk around the neighborhood or hike if the dog prefers. The kids love tossing balls, disks, rope tugging and general pup play. Or, we can relax on our back yard and let the pups run or lay around if that's what they prefer.

Pet care experience
Update: The girls are all grown up now (ages 17-22) and sweet Max has passed but we continue to foster and care for other pets when needed. While we are still occasionally available in our home in Lexington, our 22-year old daughter, Abigail is now pet sitting in Wilmington! She's been helping with pet care for well over 10 years and has many clients in the Wilmington area. Our house is not a home without a dog. We treat our furry guests like family members. My three girls have been fostering with me for over 6 years and are amazing with dogs of all types. We have fostered over 40 dogs (and a few cats) and have a Great Dane (gentle giant) who loves having a buddy around. I work from the home so I can provide nearly constant love and care. Between the girls and me, your pet will never be lonely or bored! We are an active bunch and enjoy taking our pets on walks, hikes, rides...they are part our family. We are also pretty laid back so our environment is relatively calm and stress free. In the evening, we are often snuggled on the couch with a furred buddy. Note: All minors will be supervised 100% of the time that they care for pets.
Reviews

Andrea and Abby are great. I received updates and pictures letting me know what my pup was up to. Typically Darcy is very anxious and doesn’t eat well when we’re not home, but she ate great while we were gone, so I know she was comfortable. I highly recommend Andrea and Abby anytime you need someone to care for your fur baby.

Abby was great! She kept us in the loop the whole time she was staying at our house and sent pictures of the pups frequently. We were confident after meeting her that she would take great care of our fur babies and she did!

Abby was a fantastic sitter for our Mastiff Theo AND my house was spotless when I came home. Thank you Abby for taking care of Theo over Thanksgiving weekend. Having you there made me feel extremely comfortable knowing he was in excellent care.
