Small Dog/Cat & Senior Animal Care

I cannot remember a time in my life when I didn't have an animal in my direct responsibility, including dogs, cats, and rabbits. I believe that I am particularly fitted to care for small dogs, senior animals, and cats based on my recent experience, however I love dogs and cats of all sizes and ages. Because my condo is on the small side, I am currently accepting dogs under 40ish pounds. Dogs over 20 pounds will need to be able to walk up one flight of stairs. ---------------------------------------------------- I recently lost my best guy Jimmy (5lb/Chihuahua - see pictures). I do not have any other animals in my home at this time. My house is very quiet without my senior boy. While I am not ready to commit to bringing another dog into my home full time, I am ready to help care for and love your best friend. ---------------------------------------------------- SMALL BREED/SENIOR DOG CARE: I am aware of the worries that finding a sitter for your small breed or senior dog can bring. * Will she have an accident and the sitter be upset? Nope. Jimmy was potty pad trained, but never "really" caught onto training. I have LVT floors that wipe up quick! * My baby will slide on LVT floors... Not a problem. I have 6'x6' whelping pads that can be laid down. Accident friendly, and easy to walk on. * Will they pay attention to stairs/couches/fall risks? Absolutely. I live on the second floor, but there are no stairs inside my condo. I will not leave a pet unattended on the furniture due to fall risks. I'm hyper aware of keeping a small breed dog/senior dog safe in my home. ** If you have any other concerns, let's work through them together. I hope that I can take the ease out of having to leave your family member with a sitter.

Andrea took very good care of my dog Sadie. Treated Sadie like she was her own fur baby. Sent photos every day to show how happy Sadie was and how things were going. I would definitely recommend Andrea as a pet sitter for your fur baby. I plan to use her again in the near future.

Andrea was great with my cat and dog. They seemed to like their stay with her as well, and she was quick to respond and keep us updated throughout the stay!

We had such a great experience with Andrea! She went out of her way to make sure Ollie was comfortable and happy during his stay. She sent tons of pictures and updates, which we really appreciated—it gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We never had to worry because she was so attentive and clearly cared about his well-being. We would absolutely use her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful sitter!

Andrea was so good to our pup Tazzy while she was sitting her! Tazzy has a few special needs and Andrea was more than accommodating and understanding. We know that Tazzy was well taken care of while we were away and we are already booking with Andrea again!!! Highly recommend!!!

Calendar and availability

Schedule

I currently work at home 3 days a week as a legal assistant for a patent law firm. I am in the office typically on Mondays and Wednesday (for 6 hours). When I accept a pet sitting position, I will commit to being with your pet (with the exception of small errands and office time) as much as possible to ensure their comfort and safety. When I am at the office, I will leave the lights and TV on, and I also have a ring camera in my home for monitoring. My home is air conditioned in the summer months. If your dog prefers to be crated, I ask that you bring their crate with them. Please also remember other comfort items such as a bed, blankets, or toys. DOGGY DAYCARE: I am currently accepting daycare clients on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6a-8p (for 10 hours at $25) and on select weekends (at least until fall) Saturday and Sunday from 9a-9p (for 10 hours at $25). More than 10 hours, your booking will be converted to an overnight stay. I can handle breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner! (please provide food in a container, etc. and instructions). Potty breaks every 2-4 hours, when requested, or if we both need to stretch our legs!

Safety, trust & environment

I live in a condo in downtown Rochester. While I do not have a fenced in yard, there is a city park across the street that is a safe place for me to walk your pet. Your dog will need to be able to potty on a leash. My home is potty pad friendly for dogs that are trained to use them as well (i.e small breed/senior).

A typical day

I am willing to do whatever activities your dog is up for! If they would like to go exploring, there is a park right across the street with a pond. We often see squirrels, deer, and birds there! If your friend is more into hanging out at home, I would love a reading or TV watching partner. I will send pictures and updates throughout the day as little or as much as you like. Making sure you know your pet is happy and comfortable is very important to me!

Let's talk about what is best for your pet. I feel strongly that I am a good fit for small breeds and senior animals as my most recent best friend was almost 16 and under 5 pounds (I had to say goodbye just recently). I know what it takes to keep a pet so fragile safe. I have administered oral medications both in pill and liquid form. I am willing to learn to administer injections if necessary.
