Animals are Happiness

Don’t forget to use your Rover promo code before booking. I have share my entire life with a animal of all shapes and sizes. Most of my adult life, I have rescued adult and senior dogs with special needs. My most recent rescue, Byrnes, has added to the love I have for our furry companions. This new rescue experience has reinforced my practice of positive behavioral training and agility. I’m continuously learning new skills that have resulted in fun stress free learning for both happy person and dog. I have experience working in private veterinary practices as front desk receptionist to veterinary technician. I also fulfilled an internship at the Central Park Zoo as an animal care taker. And during this time, I would volunteer with local animal shelters to rescue abused animals from sad situations. I have a deep respect and love for all animals and love learning how to keep them happy and healthy. Currently, I have an open schedule to give my full attention to my dog guests. I am home full time and focused only on my Rover friends. Dogs are always leashed when outside the fenced in yard. They are never left alone outside. I have an open door policy if they want to sunbath and I can be close by. Our walks are always on leash and I try to look for routes that have the least amount of traffic...if there is a park that is the best spot to explore.

Pets

A typical day

I would want to know the dogs likes and build a day for them. I have taken dogs on hikes and beach outings and others like to take a stroll in the park to watch squirrels.

All their dislikes and likes. Are they a couch potato or up for a brisk walk? Any behaviors that would require a sit and stay? Do they have any skills that they want to practice? Are there any medical issues that need special attention/monitoring? Are all the vaccines up to date (veterinary info)? Are there any behavior/health concerns that need to be monitored during Rover stay (food/toy aggression/allergy symptoms/slow eaters )? Are they house trained & what is their sign that they need a potty break? Does housebreaking need a little more practice? Are they able to roam freely without chewing on a chair or do they need a comfy crate in case I have to run out and pickup takeout? A great way to initially answer some of these questions is to make a date for a MEET & GREET. It also helps to be honest with your pet’s behavior and training. If your dog has aggression towards dogs it does not live with, do not claim your dog is dog friendly. If your dog suffers from separation anxiety, what methods are being used to help your dog overcome this behavior. If your dog is destructive when left alone, what methods are being used to have a safe and happy Rover visit. It will expedite the booking process to have a care plan based on your dogs actual behavior in a new situation. I do require a MEET & GREET for all new Rover dogs prior to accepting the booking. I suggest scheduling a MEET & GREET as early as possible. This will ensure that if I’m not the perfect fit, you have time to match up with another Rover sitter that would be the perfect fit.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
