Your Dog's Home Away From Home ❤️

Welcome to Annie's Pawsome Retreat! Our goal is simple: to make every dog feel safe, loved, and completely at home. My goal isn't simply to watch your dog—it's to make them feel like they're spending time with their second family. Since starting on Rover in August 2024, we've had the privilege of caring for hundreds of dogs for both daycare and boarding stays, and we've built wonderful relationships with so many amazing dogs and their families. Many of our guests have become regulars, and nothing makes me happier than watching them race through the front door, excited to come back for another visit. I provide full-time care and supervision because I am home throughout the day, every day. My husband, Bernal, is home every evening and weekend, so our guests are surrounded by plenty of love, attention, and companionship. We carefully supervise all interactions and thoughtfully match dogs based on their size, temperament, and play style so everyone feels safe, comfortable, and included. Many of our daycare and boarding guests have been with us since we started. Some started coming when they were just three months old, so we've had the joy of watching them grow into confident, happy dogs. Because so many of our regulars visit frequently, they've formed wonderful friendships and become very well socialized with one another. Our days are filled with supervised playtime, outdoor breaks, neighbourhood walks, enrichment, naps, cuddles, and lots of love. Every dog is treated as an individual, and we do our best to follow their normal routine so they feel relaxed and at home. I know how difficult it can be to leave your dog with someone else, which is why I love sending plenty of photos and videos throughout their stay. Seeing happy tails, silly moments, and peaceful naps helps families know their pup is having a wonderful time. Our 12-year-old son absolutely adores dogs and has grown up surrounded by them. He loves helping with playtime, cuddles, and showering our guests with affection. Many of our boarding pups choose to sleep beside his bed, on his bed, or curled up on his bedroom floor, and he wouldn't have it any other way. We live in a quiet, dog-friendly neighbourhood that's perfect for daily walks, and our securely fenced backyard provides plenty of safe space for supervised outdoor play. We're also conveniently located near West Edmonton Mall, making drop-offs and pick-ups convenient for many families. Caring for dogs is truly my dream job. I feel incredibly fortunate to spend my days doing something I genuinely love, and I'm so grateful for the wonderful families who trust us with their pets. If you'd like a glimpse into life at Annie's Pawsome Retreat, you can find us on Instagram, where we share some of our favourite moments with our amazing four-legged guests. In April 2026, we said goodbye to our beloved 16-year-old Wire Fox Terrier, Courtenday. During her senior years, she lived with Cushing's disease and eventually became both blind and deaf. We administered her monthly injections, gave her daily medications, and cared for her through every stage of aging. That experience gave us a deep appreciation for the patience, gentleness, and specialized care senior dogs deserve. We're very comfortable caring for dogs who require medications, injections, or special daily routines. To help maintain a safe and harmonious environment, we carefully consider each booking to ensure every dog's size, temperament, and play style are a great fit for our group. Every dog who stays with us becomes part of our extended family. We know that trusting someone with your best friend is a big decision, and it's a responsibility we never take for granted. We can't wait to welcome your pup into our home and create a stay that's filled with fun, comfort, and lots of love.

Andrea and family were absolutely amazing with Nova. I got updates, smiling photos, and videos of him playing with his tail wagging away. I’m so grateful to have found them, and will definitely be contacting them in the future when Nova needs a place to go! ❤️

Doggy Day Care • Aug 07, 2026

We cant thank Andrea and family enough for their exceptional care of our sweet Miss Remi. We had booked two days while we did some family adventuring in Edmonton, and Remi was a little caught off guard on the first day, was a bit of a stinker and tried to make a break for it, and was a bit stressed out. Andrea made sure to meet Remi where she was at and provide her with calm, reassuring care. She also took extra care to make sure that Remi couldn’t sneak her way out somehow. Someone certainly could have said that it wasn’t worth the effort for the second day, but Andrea was so kind was happy to have her back, and Remi was so relaxed and happy, it was such a gift to us! Absolutely highly recommend!!

Schedule

I provide full-time care from home, so your dog will always have plenty of companionship, supervision, and love throughout the day. Pet care isn't something I fit into my schedule—it's what my day revolves around. My husband, Bernal, is home every evening and on weekends. He loves taking the dogs for walks, playing with them, and, of course, giving lots of cuddles. He's definitely the fun one! The only time I typically leave the house is for short errands such as grocery shopping or doctor's appointments, and I'm usually gone for no more than an hour. Other than that, I'm home with our doggy guests, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and part of the family.

Safety, trust & environment

Your dog's safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. Our home is clean, calm, and dog-friendly, with a securely fenced backyard for supervised outdoor play. Every dog is carefully introduced and matched based on their size, temperament, and play style to help create a safe and harmonious environment. Dogs are welcome on the furniture and are free to sleep wherever they're most comfortable, whether that's on one of our dog beds, the couch, or beside us if that's what they're used to at home. We treat every guest like a member of our own family. I'm experienced administering oral medications, supplements, and injectable medications when required, and I'm happy to accommodate your dog's regular feeding schedule, dietary preferences, and daily routine. My goal is to make their stay feel as familiar, comfortable, and stress-free as possible.

A typical day

Every day is filled with fun, enrichment, and plenty of love! Our guests enjoy supervised playtime with their doggy friends, games like fetch and tug, lots of cuddles, and relaxing breaks throughout the day. We spend plenty of time in our securely fenced backyard, where the dogs can safely run, explore, sunbathe, or simply relax together. Weather permitting, we also enjoy walks around our quiet, dog-friendly neighbourhood, giving the dogs lots of opportunities to sniff, explore, and enjoy new sights and smells. Every dog has a different energy level, so I tailor each day to their individual needs, making sure they get the right balance of exercise, enrichment, rest, and affection.
