Cats

Availability

I work from home, so I’m available for morning, afternoon and evening walks. I’m also able to let them outside in a fenced in backyard throughout the day. I sometimes have evening activities like tennis or pottery, but that’s generally a couple hours and local.

Safety, trust & environment

I always keep dogs on a leash while walking to avoid any safety issues. On hikes bring a water bottle and portable bowl for your dog. If your dog has hip problems and you have stairs I could likely pick them up and carry them up the stairs if needed, but my house is a single story with only a couple stairs to get inside. I'm happy to take other precautions that would be helpful for your dog.

Information Andrea B. would like to know about your pet

I would want to know about any health concerns, behavioral issues (e.g., reactivity towards other dogs), or general preferences to keep the dog happy and safe.

A typical day

I would likely take them around the neighborhood on week nights for walks. I always make sure to let them sniff and not rush them so they get the full stimulation from the walk. On weekends I would more likely take them for a hike if they like that. I sometimes do this on week nights too if the day light hours are enough after work ends.

Cat care experience

I used to chronically cat sit in high school for neighbors who were gone about half the year and have since done so for friends for up to a month at a time. I love quirky cats who find their way into one drawer and pop back out of a different one. I also love to play with toys and pet them (when they’re up for it) but am patient with cats who need more time to open up as well. One thing I haven’t had to do is force a cat into a crate or give meds, so a cat with more serious vet care needs may not be the best fit to my experience

Gus had an amazing time staying with Andrea. It’s very obvious that they are dog lovers and Gus was VERY pampered and well taken care of. We wouldn’t hesitate to book another stay with Andrea.

Andrea is absolutely wonderful. She recently hosted my very anxious chihuahua/ terrier mix for a week in her home and I couldn't be happier with the care she provided. She was very accommodating as far as drop-off/pick-up times and provided pictures and updates everyday. It was clear that Blondie was perfectly spoiled with love and attention throughout the week. I have zero hesitation recommending Andrea to anyone looking for extremely organized dog sitter that will love on your pup while you are away.
