Whether I’m caring for pets in my own home or at a pet owner’s home, I always prioritise the comfort, routine, and well-being of the cats in my care. When I care for cats in my own home, I create a pet-friendly environment where they can feel safe and secure. I ensure that my home is cat-proofed—meaning all potentially harmful items are out of reach, and there are plenty of cozy, quiet spaces where the cats can relax. I maintain their usual feeding schedule, keep their litter box clean, and offer interactive playtime to keep them mentally and physically stimulated. For more independent cats, I respect their space while ensuring they’re still checked on regularly to make sure they’re comfortable. When caring for cats in a pet owner’s home, I make sure to respect their environment while providing the same level of care. I follow their specific instructions regarding feeding, medication (if necessary), and routines to ensure there’s minimal disruption to the cat’s regular schedule. I maintain a clean and safe environment, clean the litter box regularly, and keep the home tidy as a courtesy to the owners. Additionally, I offer daily updates and photos, so owners can have peace of mind while they’re away. In both cases, I ensure that I provide personalised care tailored to each cat’s preferences—whether that’s quiet cuddle time for a more reserved cat or active playtime for one that loves attention. My goal is always to keep the cats happy, relaxed, and feeling secure, no matter whose home they’re in.

I cannot recommend Anca enough. From her first visit to meet my cat, it was clear to me what an animal lover she was. It gave me so much comfort and joy to see how smitten she was with my beloved cat and I knew we were in safe hands. Anca provided lots of photo and video updates and she was always contactable. My cat (who is normally very shy) clearly felt happy and comfortable with her, which meant I could relax and enjoy my holiday. Anca also very kindly watered out plants when there was a heatwave, and without being asked left everything very clean and tidy. She is a lovely, kind, conscientious person who I would trust with my cat and my home again with no question. Thank you!

Whether it’s feeding, playing, or simply providing companionship, I can easily incorporate pet care into my schedule without disruption. For cats, this means I can maintain a consistent routine for them, which is important for their sense of security. I make time for regular feeding, cleaning litter boxes, and providing playtime or affection when needed. Since I’m home most of the day, I can also keep an eye on their behaviour, making it easier to spot any changes that might indicate a health issue or discomfort. Additionally, working from home gives me the opportunity to offer plenty of social interaction and enrichment for cats who enjoy attention. I can provide regular play sessions, keep them engaged with toys, and ensure they are comfortable during quiet times, especially for more independent cats who may prefer solitude at certain points of the day. Overall, my home-based work routine allows me to offer attentive, flexible, and consistent care that meets the needs of pets while balancing my professional responsibilities.
