When caring for pets in a client’s home, I try to keep everything as close to their normal routine as possible. I follow feeding instructions carefully, refresh water, clean litter boxes or pick up outside as needed, and spend time with the pet so they don’t feel lonely while their owner is away. I am very respectful of people’s homes and always leave everything the way I found it. I also send updates and photos after each visit so owners know their pet is safe, eating normally, and doing well. Because I work in a veterinary clinic, I am also comfortable monitoring pets for any signs of illness or behavior changes and will communicate anything unusual right away.

Schedule
Pet care fits very naturally into my routine because I already structure my days around caring for my own cats and working in a veterinary clinic. I am typically available for evening visits during the week and have more flexible availability on weekends. Because I have a consistent work schedule, I am very reliable about visit times and planning ahead, and I make sure pets are fed, have fresh water, clean litter boxes, and get attention and playtime during each visit. I enjoy having pet care visits as part of my weekly routine and treat each visit as something important in my schedule, not something I try to squeeze in last minute.

- Before caring for a pet, I like to know their normal routine, feeding schedule, any medications, favorite hiding spots or sleeping spots, any behavior quirks, and what is normal for their appetite, litter box habits, or energy level. I also like to know their veterinarian information and emergency contact information just in case. The more I know about a pet’s normal behavior and routine, the better I can make sure they are comfortable and safe while their owner is away.
