Availability
I’m a freelance designer, which basically means I work with a built-in excuse to take walk breaks and hang out with dogs. My schedule’s flexible, and I’m home most days, so your pup will have company, plenty of walks, and all the tail wags they deserve.

Safety, trust & environment
As a fellow dog mom, I completely get how nerve-wracking it can feel to leave your pup with someone new. Safety is my top priority, always. Having a stubborn Shiba has made me a pro at planning ahead — I’m used to reading situations and setting things up to keep everyone calm and secure. In true Shiba fashion, Leo is respectful and independent. He’s happy to give other dogs their space, but he’ll also play if they’re in the mood. Leo is healthy, fully vaccinated, and up to date on all preventives. Our home is clean and well-kept to make sure every pup stays safe and comfortable — and all common areas are fair game for cuddles, naps, and toys. We go on leashed walks only (or to dog parks if your pup’s allowed), and I’ll always match your dog’s routine to what they’re used to at home. You’ll get honest updates and plenty of photos because I know how comforting it is to see your dog happy while you’re away — it’s my favorite part when Leo’s with a sitter, too.

Information Ana Y. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know anything that will help me make your dog feel at home — routines, quirks, favorite toys, or things they’re working on. I know every pup has their own personality, and I like to adjust their care to match what they’re used to. Since I live in an apartment with my four-year-old dog, my preference is for pups who are comfortable around other dogs and used to living indoors. I mostly host small to medium-sized dogs who are house-trained and can settle in comfortably at home. If your dog has any special needs, medications, or specific routines, I’m happy to follow whatever works best for them.
A typical day
A typical day at our place starts with a morning walk around Greenpoint — we love the river paths and quiet park spots for a good sniff session. After breakfast, it’s time for some rest or play depending on each pup’s mood (Leo is usually supervising from the couch). Throughout the day, I take breaks for cuddles or quick games with toys. I freelance from home, so there’s always someone around for company and attention. Midday, we head out for another walk, then wind down in the evening with cuddles, treats, and a cozy spot on the couch. Before bed, we go out for a quick 10-minute potty break so everyone can settle in comfortably for the night. Leo is crate-trained, and we have extra crates at home, but I always adjust based on what your dog is used to. If your pup prefers sleeping on the couch or curled up in a blanket, that’s perfectly fine — I want them to feel right at home.

Pet care experience
I’m the proud mom of a very opinionated Shiba named Leo, who basically runs the household. I’ve had him for four years, and living with a Shiba has taught me patience and how to negotiate with tiny dictators. Before Leo, I was the go-to dog sitter for my friends — walks, baths, sleepovers, you name it. After years of that (and now life with a Shiba), I’d say I’ve earned a mini PhD in stubborn breeds and dog psychology. I freelance from home, so my schedule is flexible and I’m around most of the day for walks, playtime, and attention. I like to keep my guest list small — Leo plus one other dog (or two if they’re siblings) — so everyone feels comfortable and gets plenty of one-on-one time. We live in Greenpoint, surrounded by parks and the river, and our daily walks usually turn into mini adventures filled with sniffing and people-watching. Whether your pup is high-energy or more of a chill companion, they’ll fit right in with our little Brooklyn crew.

Ana took fantastic care of our little puppy for an evening! She was really lovely, and sent us lots of photo and video updates, showing how he’d settled in and was enjoying his time with her dog as well. Would highly recommend Ana for any dog sitting needs!
