I have many years of experience with pets, as I grew up with them, and I’m the first-time pet owner of my wonderful 7-year-old cat, Chasey. Growing up, I helped my dad with his volunteer work with Divine Canines, going to nursing homes and hospitals. I worked with him on basic and more elaborate training commands. I attended Divine Canine events and helped with the Austin favorite, Barks for Beers. In high school, I was (unofficially) elected the designated caretaker of two rabbits and a turtle. I never knew turtles could hiss until that fateful day. In 2021, I made a series of decisions and took off on the road yet again. I maintained a very busy and fun schedule, housesitting dogs of all sizes and temperaments, as well as brushing up on feline body language so I could assess how to bond with the cool cats I was employed to care for. In 2023, I got tired of being on the road, and I could tell my cat missed me, so I took a 3-month hiatus before getting hired as a kennel technician at AUVC downtown. I worked with an eclectic and like-minded staff that took care of even more dogs and cats. That position gave me familiarity with working with a pack of dogs (20+) as well as participation in administering medications. I also learned a great deal about working with truculent cats. I really enjoy what I do, and I have no regrets about any former jobs I took on. I took some breaks, mastered the craft, and now I’m back again. Safety, trust & environment
I adhere to the owners rules and boundaries for their pets, and I do not interact with other pets unless told otherwise. If permitted access to a dog park, I am confident I have enough knowledge in animal behavior to be able to read body language and avoid altercations. I do not feed anything to your animal unless told otherwise even if I know it's safe. Basic exercise, feeding, water intake, and attention needs are ensured to be met. I refuse to take risks working with others animals, your pet-your rules and I avoid liability. I stay in constant contact and provide pictures to ensure proof of life and service.
Ratings and reviews
Ana was amazing. She took great care for my dogs, which are a handful to say the least. Her communication was great and would provide daily updates with pictures of my pups that made me not miss them as much and reassured me that they were taken care of. If I need a sitter again I will definitely try and book her services. Thanks again Ana!
Ana took great care of Kai while I was away. Kai is a German Shepard who can be quite anxious around new people but Ana was nice enough to come meet her a couple of times before I left which made her (and me) way more comfortable during her stay. She sent me tons of updates throughout the week which was very reassuring.
