Is your dog potty trained? Does she get along well with other dogs? Is she a barker? Our list of preference just increases as we fall in love with the pets we take care of. Yes, we are totally in love with Golden Retrievers and Shihtzus, also frenchies, poms, chihuahuas, malteses, lhasa apsos, pugs, mutts... did I say mutts?.. Well... you can see where this is going, right?.. :)
A typical day
We live in an area with lots of parks nearby, so each day we choose a different path. We go to dog meetings, house of our friends, or just walk by. They have tons of toys to play with and bed to sleep.

***Veterinary Doctor and Major in Psychology in Brazil +Canine Behaviour Specialist. Only works with dog boarding full time. Hi there! My name is Ana and here's what you should know about me: I say hi to random dogs on the street! Crazy about animals since I was a kid, I had lots of pets while living with my parents, mostly rescues. Currently I have 3 with my husband: a senior rescue Shihtzu mix boy, a rescue Shihtzu girl and a Golden Retriever girl. From time to time we also have temporary residents as we foster to a local shelter. . I studied to be a Veterinarian, however, graduating as a veterinarian taught me that clinics and hospitals were not my main thing, so I focused on caring besides treating. Since then, I have provided services like home consulting, dog boarding, pet sitting, and adoption/rescue and senior dogs orientation. I also have a Major in Psychology with Specialization in Canine Behaviour. I'm continuously updating my skills, taking various courses in dog special needs dog care, nutrition for dogs with metabolic diseases, massage therapy, calming signals, emergency aids, and much more. I have been professionally only working with dog home boarding and sitting since 2006, and in Canada since 2015, when I moved here. In 2022 we decided to take an opportunity and buy a petstore in Florida, since we love dogs so much and my husband Marcelo also wanted to work in the area. After spending almost 2 years there, we have decided to come back to Canada, and are now settled back in the Durham area in a full fenced backyard house in Whitby! In general, the dogs we take care of have a calm demeanor, and are small to medium in size, but we have experience looking after big dogs such as Retrievers, Berneses, Border Collies and a mix of dogs that adapt to our routine, including seniors, special needs and rescues. We are trying at this time to not board dogs more than 80 lbs because our older shihtzu is beginning to show signs of senior dementia and getting afraid of really big dogs, so we are trying to accommodate that for him. We usually board around 1-3 dogs at the same time. During the Holidays that number can be jump to something like 6 dogs - and it’s very interesting to watch the dynamics. Most of them have met many times before and are already best paws (pun intended). We pride ourselves on personalized service, so if your doggo likes to keep to themselves, we’ll make sure they have the alone time they need. If your pup is super social, they’ll get lots of play time and fun with other fur babies. Free meet, greet and play session: Before your fur baby’s stays with us, we schedule a meet-and-greet. This is so we can get to know each other, show you our residence, introduce our dogs, and do a behaviour assessment. When necessary, we schedule another (free) half day for adaptation or for further behaviour/anxiety assessment. It also helps your pup get familiar with our home, our dogs and of course, us! We can also extend this introduction to night time. This is to safeguard the dogs self-being, guaranteeing personalized attention and a stress-free pawsitive experience for everyone. A tail-wagging good time: Your pet will stay at our place, as if she was ours, cage-free and spoiled all day long. Usually we go on walks in the morning and by the end of the day. The walks happen individually, or up to 3 dogs at a time, so everyone can enjoy at their own pace, stopping to sniff if they like or at a more speedy stride, if that’s what they prefer. They also have access to a big fenced backyard throughout the day. We also take the doggos out to pup meetings with friends for socialization and play. Indoor lappy dogs that don’t really like going out stay at our place with lots of cuddles, toys and beds (they love trying other dog beds!) and potato couching. Other ways we make your fur baby feel at home: Dogs staying overnight are welcome to sleep in our bed with us (we love when they do)! We send daily updates with pictures and videos, plus we feature them on our social feed! I only work with dogs, so I’m pretty much available. My husband works from home, so he helps me. I also offer home visits or stayings for special needs dogs or older dogs, so it really depends on your fur baby’s needs. Ready to meet us? Send us a message so we can schedule a meet and greet!
Reviews

Ana is absolutely terrific with our pets. It's obvious from the way she interacts with them that she has sooo much experience with all types of animals. Both our dog and cat can be cautious with strangers but they both absolutely adored Ana right from the start. We are so fortunate to have her to look after them!
Veda had a great stay with Ana. It was our first time using Rover, and I’m glad we found Ana who truly loves dogs and made her first stay such an easy, fun and welcoming one.

Ana took wonderful care of Ozzy and treated him with so much love and attention. He absolutely loved playing with Olivia, her sweet golden, and it was clear how happy and comfortable he felt in her care. Ana has a natural way with dogs and creates a calm, loving environment. I would trust her with Ozzy again without hesitation and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable pet sitter.

Ana was an amazing dog sitter for our Golden Retriever. It definitely felt like we were leaving our dog in a loving home where she would be well taken care of and with lots do. Would definitely recommend her to a friend and rebook in the future.
