Information Amy W. would like to know about your pet

Some things I like to learn ahead of time: - Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? - What’s your preferred method of communication? - Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? - Do you have a vet nearby that you trust? - Is your dog spayed/neutered? - Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? - What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? - What’s the best way to spoil your pup?

A typical day

My neighborhood is the perfect place for dogs! I live very close to tons of things that are tons of fun for dogs. For instance, there’s a wonderful hiking trail right by me, so we’ll be able to get out and explore on a moment’s notice. The trail is also adjacent to a park right near the water, so we’ll be able to get out and have tons of fun out in the sun! There’s simply no shortage of fun things to do around town!

Pet care experience

What sets me apart as a dog sitter is my extensive experience and specialized skills in handling dogs of all ages and temperaments. I bring a deep understanding of canine behavior, which allows me to provide tailored care and training to meet the unique needs of each dog. I am well-versed in training puppies, focusing on foundational skills and positive reinforcement techniques to foster good behavior and a strong bond. For senior dogs, I offer compassionate care that includes managing age-related issues such as mobility challenges and medical needs, ensuring they remain comfortable and happy. In addition to training and age-specific care, I am committed to maintaining a structured routine that promotes a sense of security and well-being. My approach combines attentive supervision with engaging activities, making sure your dog receives both mental and physical stimulation. This personalized and holistic approach ensures that every dog in my care receives the attention and care they deserve. Getting to take care of animals simply is one of the most rewarding things around. Dogs are always so giving towards us, so I believe that it is my duty to give back to them whenever possible! Dogs have certainly done so much for my life and I simply want to make sure they have all the love and kindness they need to thrive. Getting to meet new dogs and help people out all at once is a dream come true for me! Although I’ll be the primary caregiver for your dog, my home is full of puppy love! I currently live with my significant other, and they are a huge dog lover! They’ve had dogs for their whole life and is always happy to bring a new pup into the mix. When taking on a new client, I typically like to schedule a meet-and-greet. It’s a great way to make sure that we’re all a good fit for one another, which is so important to me. Likewise, it gives us the opportunity to chat face-to-face about your pup and your care expectations. No one knows your dog better than you do, so it’s always great to chat with owners in person about what makes their pup tick! Perhaps the best thing about me as a sitter is that I’m a full-time dog lover! I am home every day except for Thursday which means that your pup will have all the love and attention that they need. No one likes to keep their pooch cooped up in a kennel all day, so I make sure that they can roam free and clear as they please! As I’m home all day except for Thursday, I’m the perfect fit for dogs that are used to having their human around them during the day--or for ones that could benefit from that!

I am thrilled that I chose to board my two dogs, Hunter and Joey, with Amy for a recent short trip. Both of them are rescues who are non aggressive, but are shy and fearful. Hunter just needs some time to get comfortable, but Joey is afraid of everything and everyone. Amy knows and understands dogs and their different personalities. She intuitively knew how to relate to and calm Hunter and Joey in an unfamiliar environment. The most amazing thing was that Amy was able to take Joey on two walks, which is something that I have not been able to do because I live in a busy area. She regularly sent photos and updates on how the dogs were doing. In short, Amy is amazing! Hunter and Joey will be staying with her again in July and whenever I travel.

I can’t say enough great things about Amy! From the moment we met, I could tell she genuinely care about animals. Any was kind, reliable, and communicated with me regularly while I was away, sending pictures and updates that really put my mind at ease. My dog absolutely adored her. It was clear they bonded quickly. When I returned, my dog was happy, healthy, and clearly well cared for. I highly recommend Amy to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate sitter. We’ll definitely be booking again!

Very kind and thoughtful. Great communication about the day to day activities, and loved getting photos of my dog too while I was away! I very much appreciate how willing and able Amy was to work with me with this being such a last minute booking. She took very great care of my dog, and I appreciate her time and effort she put it. It really showed when I picked my dog up, he seemed very happy and well taken care of while I was gone.
