The little dog house

I have my PhD in Biology and years of experience in animal behavior, husbandry, and medical care. I currently work full time with the Nebraska Department of Transportation as a Wetland Biologist. I am only able to host doggy day care Friday-Sundays. Boarding is still 7 days a week. My dog, a long-haired chihuahua (Bandito) is 8 years old. Bandito is a sweet timid dog who loves to guard the neighborhood from the front window. (This is a favorite spot dog all dogs who have stayed here). He loves playing with other dogs, especially those near his own size. He is a sweetie and loves making new friends. We have a new kitten, Zeus. He will not be interacting while your pup stays over to reduce stress on everyone. Zeus is still new to the family and would be staying in his “safe space” (my son’s room) when visitors are here. My son is about to be a junior in high school. Your little pup will have a great time chasing bunnies and squirrels in our large fenced backyard (see pictures). My house is smoke free and animal friendly. Your pet(s) will be treated with lots of love and care - just like one of my own precious furry family members. In my home, our pets are family. I am easy to reach and will gladly send updates & pictures! Hours of operation: Day care: 6:00am-9:00pm Boarding: Boarding is a 24-hour block of service. Extra time beyond 25 hours will be billed as doggie daycare for the day in question. Late fee: late fee of $20 will be assessed if an owner is more than 30 minutes late past pick-up window established by sitter.

Amy has watched our dog several times and we have been very happy with her communication and daily pictures while we are away. She provides a comfortable environment where our dog feels at home and is given a lot of personal attention which he loves. Amy is very professional and is very knowledgeable about pets and their needs and behaviors.

Amy was amazing! She took such great care of our sweet Pomeranian Mary. She was treated like the family and fit right in. My dog has bad separation anxiety and needs a person to be around her all the time and Amy was more than willing to step up to that role. She sent us tons of photos assuring us Mary was in good hands. We would definitely use Amy again if needed and would recommend her to anyone!

Amy has done a great job caring for my cat. Although he always hides, she does a great job of communicating so I know he is doing well.

Amy took care of our two puppies for 4 days. She sent us multiple pictures a day and was very fast in responding to any of our inquiries.

A typical day

My neighborhood is a nice, quiet, and prime for a variety of walking routes and is somewhat "hilly". If your dog likes to play fetch, we've got plenty of tennis balls! Bandito is a good playmate. I will keep your dog well cared for while you are away. I do offer grooming as an add on. This includes bathing, combing, drying, and nail clipping (if the dog tolerates it well).

0 to 15 lbs
Dogs over 1 year old
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Amy can host up to 3 pets per night
We accept only small dogs in our home. Important for us: What is your dog’s personality like? Is he/she potty trained? Is your pup up to date on vaccinations and flea treatment (in warm months). I highly encourage a meet & great before your dogs first stay.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
