Information Amy S. would like to know about your pet

I don't have any breed preferences. I want to meet all dogs before sitting for them. I have had training with aggressive dogs. I know how to handle them on a leash for walks. I also know how to identify if someone else has an aggressive dog to keep your dog safe.

A typical day

We replicate your schedule as much as possible. During our initial meet & greet, we'll discuss your routine and the plan for while your dog is in my home. Typically, we do 2 short walks and 1 longer walk per day. I also have a back yard for your dog to play in during the day. I work from home so they can go inside and outside as they please.

Pet care experience

It's more than just a board & train. Your dog becomes a member of my home and will learn within everyday situations so he/she is ready for everyday situations. I am Certified Dog Trainer from Karen Pryor Academy, specializing in positive reinforcement, reward based clicker training. Positive Reinforcement means I tell your dog when he/she has done something correctly using a click, followed by a reward. The reward is anything your dog finds rewarding! Typically it is food (don't worry, the training will still work when you don't have food!) Some dogs are more motivated by toys or even petting. Each dog is starting from a different point and learns at a different speed. Therefore, an initial assessment (free) is required prior to booking your stay. This assessment will help me determine what results you should expect at the end of your stay & what motivates your dog the most! I have foster dogs in and out of my house so your dog must get along with other dogs. If not, check with me first to see if I will have a dog for the dates you want.

Amy was fantastic! She has been so helpful with Kaia! When she was not able to take her for a weekend she was able to recommend us to someone that trains just as well too. She has been very helpful in our training journey! Her puppy Tucker is super well behaved and Kaia loved having a friend. Leaving your baby with Amy is something you will not regret :)

We are so happy with Amy and her overall expertise! You can tell that she truly loves dogs and takes the time to train and adapt to our schedule. I would recommend Amy to friends and family in a heartbeat! Did I mention her website that she dedicated a page to each dog and writes about each visit with plenty of pictures!

Amy was fantastic with Blue! She would text me to keep me updated/send pictures, and also updated her page on Blue so I knew exactly what he had been up to. Blue had a blast with her foster dog, Bella, he was definitely happy to have another dog to play with and tire him out a little. I would highly recommend Amy and will definitely use her again in the future!
