Thank you for considering Pet Care by Amy! You get what you pay for with me. My rates are set so that I can focus on your pets during your booked time. I am huge on communication and will do my best to meet your pets’ needs and routine while you’re away. I respect the amount of trust that comes with leaving part of your family—and maybe your home—in my care, and I take that responsibility seriously. I’ve had dogs and cats (and a couple smaller critters here and there) since childhood and understand that pets are family. I currently have four small rescue dogs at home and am active in dog sitting for local friends and rescues. I know how it feels to leave your loved ones in someone else’s care, and I will do everything I can to give you peace of mind and make your fur babies as comfortable and happy as possible.

Safety, trust & environment
Your pet’s safety is my priority! I am fully insured and pet first aid certified. I like to chat with you and meet your pet(s) before any scheduled bookings so we’re both on the same page about your instructions and expectations. I also value clear and frequent communication. (That includes pictures and updates of your loved ones while in my care!) I respect your home as my own and will leave it as clean, secure and maintained as I found it. If you have any house quirks or special instructions, just let me know. I can also give you a quote for cleaning or small projects while you’re away—let’s chat and make your experience as productive as possible! For boarding and daycare services (in my home), we ask that all dogs be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, and taking monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention. We typically do not host pets from multiple households at the same time, but please let me know if you have more than one dog for boarding/daycare and I’ll get you a quote. For the safety of our pets and yours, we are not able to host large dogs, cats or (human) children in our home, but I’m happy to come to yours! My husband is my “sidekick” in all things pet care. He generally handles our crew at home while I’m at a booking but may join me at initial Meet & Greets, on walks or bring meals to me during overnights. He maintains all the same standards as I do—and has the same clean background check as well—but I will always be your primary pet caregiver. 😉 If for any reason you prefer that he not interact with your pet or home, please let me know.

Amy was able to save the day and take a last minute booking, and she went absolutely above and beyond…she even changed the battery in one of our smoke detectors while we were gone! I could tell my pets felt completely comfortable around her from the many picture updates I received. I’m hoping she’s available again in the future!
Amy was the most fantastic “aunty/nanny” to our fur babies, Wednesday the puggle and Mittens the chonky kitty!! Amy was able to meet with us a few days prior to sitting for us, so she could meet our “children” and we could become comfortable with her. She won me over by making a point to greet them by name!!! Then she even messaged me with a follow-up suggestion based on a discussion we had at our meeting. Amy arrived timely and cheerfully on our departure day .. making a point once again to greet the furries warmly by name. And even though Wednesday greeted Amy with enthusiasm again by jumping up on her, Amy took it in stride and with patience. Amy stayed overnight until the following evening, and had no problem giving medication to Wednesday that night. She kept in contact with me throughout the weekend by sending updates on our furries’ behavior and multiple photos, which was such a comfort!!!! We couldn’t have been more grateful!! This was our first time using Rover.com after some suggestions from family and we have only high praise for the company AND Amy!!! I’d absolutely recommend Amy for watching your “kids” .. whether for a few hours or several days!!!! We will definitely be using her services again!! :) THANK YOU, Amy!!!

Schedule
My schedule is flexible, and I’ll do my best to work with you around my full-time day job. I’m generally free in the evenings and on weekends, so keep me in mind if you need a night away but want company for your furry housemates. I am happy to stay with your pets overnight and can also make time for daytime check-ins/walks as needed. Be sure to check out my holiday availability as well! Specific service notes: • PETSITTING/HOUSE SITTING (in your home): Defined as 10-12 hours overnight plus a minimum of 1-2 drop-in visits during the day with 1-2 photo and text updates per 24-hour period, depending on request times. Nightly rates include these services for up to two pets in the home. I will spend additional time with your pet(s) when I can, but in order to best accommodate clients and my general work and life responsibilities, please consider these the minimum expectations for a housesitting booking. It's important to communicate your pet's schedule and any special needs they may have related to timing so I can make sure they are as comfortable as possible. If your pet needs 24/7 care (aka constant care), please send me a message to discuss a quote. • DROP-IN VISITS and DOG WALKING (your home/neighborhood): Photo and text updates for these services are in the form of Rover Cards, which you can view in your Rover account. Booked time is based on arrival and departure to your home. (For example, if you book a 30-minute walk, that will include entering the home, leashing/unleashing and any other in-home tasks needed in addition to the walk itself.) • BOARDING and DAYCARE (in my home): I have set myself to "away" for these services to better accommodate the majority of my clients who request services outside my home rather than splitting time in and out. If you are interested in boarding or daycare for specific dates, please send me a message!
