Availability
I work a full-time job with hours that may vary between 9:00 AM and 7:30 PM throughout the week. Because of this, my pet visits typically take place before work or in the evenings after work. I’m also sometimes able to stop by midday during my lunch break or on my days off, depending on my schedule that week. I do my best to be flexible whenever possible and will always communicate clearly about availability. If your pet has a specific routine or timing needs, feel free to reach out and we can see what works best. My goal is to provide dependable, consistent care while making sure your pets feel comfortable and well looked after while you’re away.

When caring for pets in a client’s home, my goal is to keep their routine as normal and comfortable as possible. During visits, I make sure pets are fed according to their schedule, have fresh water, and that litter boxes or potty areas are clean. I spend time giving them attention, playtime, and companionship so they don’t feel lonely while their family is away. For cats, this often includes feeding, refreshing water, cleaning the litter box, playtime, and some quiet companionship depending on their personality. For dogs, visits can include feeding, potty breaks, walks, playtime, and lots of positive attention. I always respect the client’s home and follow any specific instructions provided for their pet’s care. I’m also happy to provide updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. Every pet is different, and I take the time to learn their personality and routine so they feel comfortable and cared for during each visit.

Information Amy P. would like to know about your pet
It’s always helpful to know about your pet’s personality, routines, and any behavioral tendencies ahead of time. For example, things like pulling on the leash, jumping, nipping, darting out doors, or any signs of aggression are important for me to be aware of so I can provide the safest and most comfortable care possible. I’ve worked with many different personalities in pets (and humans too!), so I’m very comfortable adapting to a variety of temperaments. However, due to some mild upper body weakness, very large or strong dogs that pull heavily on the leash may not be the best fit for me for walking services. Sharing details about your pet’s habits, routines, preferences, and any medical needs helps me make sure their visits are safe, smooth, and enjoyable for everyone.
A typical day
I love making sure the pets I care for stay both happy and engaged during visits. For dogs, that might include walks around the neighborhood to stretch their legs, playtime with their favorite toys, or games that help burn off energy. I enjoy providing both physical activity and mental stimulation, depending on what each pet enjoys. For cats, fun can look a little different—interactive toy play, exploring, or just keeping them company while they show off their personalities. And of course, if your pet prefers a calmer visit, I’m just as happy to relax and cuddle on the couch with your buddy, giving them the attention and companionship they need while you’re away. Every pet is different, so I like to follow their lead and make sure the time we spend together is fun, comfortable, and tailored to their personality.

Pet care experience
Caring for animals has been a lifelong part of my life. I’ve always had pets in my home and truly enjoy spending time with animals of all personalities and needs. Over the years, I’ve cared for cats and dogs of all ages—from energetic puppies and playful kittens to senior pets who need a little extra patience and attention. I’m comfortable with a wide range of pet personalities, including shy or independent cats and high-energy dogs that love to play and go for walks. I understand that every pet has their own routine, and I’m happy to follow feeding schedules, provide fresh water, clean litter boxes, administer basic medications if needed, and make sure your pets get plenty of love and attention while you’re away. In my own home, I currently care for two Goldendoodles, a cat, and a 29-gallon fish tank, so daily pet care is simply part of my routine. I understand how important it is to know your pets are safe and cared for when you’re not there, and I take that responsibility seriously. Cat visits tend to fit especially well with my schedule and offer great flexibility alongside my full-time job, but I also welcome dog visits and would love the opportunity to care for them as well. My goal is always to make sure your pets feel comfortable, safe, and happy until you return home.

Reviews

We hired Amy because our regular sitter was not available. She did a wonderful job and we appreciated her prompt responses to our messages. We will defintely be asking Amy back in the future. Thank you!

Amy did a great job taking care of my Calliope! She followed my care instructions and sent plenty of pictures and videos of my baby.

Amy took great care of our two kitties during our last two trips and we can highly recommend her. She is responsible, caring and shows attention to detail which gave us peace of mind while gone.9
