I can only do drop-in visits rather than boarding because my resident dogs aren't so keen on other canines, if you catch my drift. Wouldn't be a good fit, so to speak.
Information Amy P. would like to know about your pet
I've cared for blind dogs, sight- and hearing-impaired dogs, dogs with significant mobility issues, diabetic dogs, and dogs with severe anxiety and those who experienced trauma. All of these require prior knowledge so that accommodations can be discussed and a plan put in place. We want to make sure they can have as much fun during visits as possible.
A typical day
Dogs really need to get their wiggles out and we could try fetch/"throw," hide and seek, tug of war, enrichment games (floating/bobbing for treats in plastic pool, etc) but generally walks around their neighborhood or at a park allows them to be stimulated via sights, sounds and smells that would help them better navigate the experience of being at home alone.

Diva Nanny
Pet care experience
Every pet can find that inner source material to get them to “full diva.” If you’ve ever seen a dog refuse a chuck-it ball covered in dirt or seen a cat stonily meet your eyes when you’ve put down the health-food treats then you’ve witnessed the moments which tell us how to pamper and baptize a diva. In essence, being fully present to listen to an animal telling us their story is what I’m talking about. It goes beyond witnessing and observing and into the gentle parts of existence that we all crave, e.g., sitting down on the grass with the expectant dog and cleaning off the ball with a wet paper towel; making a show of putting a small dot of favorite wet food onto the health food treat. These are the human behaviors which can create trust and sensitivity that rewires neurons. For our pets aren’t “just pets” after all: they are the family that tends our happiness. There is no such thing as diva when you truly consider all they do for us; pampering an animal is actually just being true to our best self and living our best life. I’ve been a full-time pet sitter of 10 years for my own Salt Lake City business, and just relocated to TX. I am conscientious, joyful, observant, and above all attuned to the language of animals (e.g., their behavior) and none of this you’ll have to take on faith because you’ll get (probably too many) videos of our visits to see for yourself. I’ve been through every experience with pet sitting you can imagine. I have seen a very old cat who stopped eating rebound; a Christmas Day (2016) where I worked 20 hours during the biggest snowstorm ever; I have found a cat a pet parent lost; I volunteered to pay for a dog to get her nails trimmed when the pet parent couldn’t; raced up hills and rigged shoelaces to catch two headstrong mini-Aussies after a break-in led to their escape; have talked to owners about their pet’s health and when it was “time”, and cried with them when it was. Events like these don’t make someone a good sitter but remembering them does. These are the events that shaped my life; these are the days that have made it as rich with successes as a gentleminded person can make it. I care about your pet, and I care about your life. I’d love to come meet you and tend your fur-family, and tell you more.

Reviews
Amy was wonderful! She took great care of my kitties and sent us lots of photos and videos, which we loved. She was very thorough with Tofu’s medication, friendly, polite, and great at communicating. We felt very comfortable knowing our kitties were in good hands. We’d definitely book Amy again!
We absolutely love Amy and the care she gave our 4 kitties—we loved her so much we utilized her pet sitting services for 6+ years! She is responsible and timely and sends the most adorable videos of the fur babies. I never worried when our kitties were in her care! The only reason we can’t continue to use her pet sitting is because she moved to a different state! The pets she watches in her new state are in for a treat! I can’t say enough good things about Amy, 10/10, would definitely recommend her services!
Our family can always count on Amy, and our dogs and cats love her. We had peace of mind knowing she was caring for our crew when we had to be away from home. She also went above and beyond to help with things like bringing in mail and deliveries as well which we so appreciated. She was so caring of our fur family and our home! One of our dogs has special needs and is slow to trust and he loved her like no other. Amy is as responsible, kind and trustworthy as a person could be.
Amy has been pet sitting for us for almost 15 years, and at this point she truly feels like part of our family. She is caring, responsive, dependable, and genuinely loves our pets and our home. She goes above and beyond in every possible way. One time while we were out of the country, Amy was caring for our cats while our dogs were boarding. One of our dogs became sick, and Amy immediately stepped in — she picked her up, took her to the vet, brought her back to our home, and personally cared for her there until we returned. I honestly don’t know what we would have done without her. Because of Amy, I never worry about our pets or our home when we travel. That peace of mind is priceless. She spends real quality time with each pet, plays with them, brings her own toys (which our cats love even more than ours), and is incredibly thoughtful and creative with them. She also sends photo and video updates at every visit, which we always appreciate. Our pets absolutely adore her. One of our cats normally hides from everyone, yet with Amy he immediately comes out to be loved on. Animals truly trust her. Amy is a rare person and an extraordinary pet sitter, and I cannot recommend her highly enough.
