Full time Travel Sitter

Hello! I am a full-time traveler and petsitter, traveling the country based on astrocartography in search of where to plant roots. I may have to travel some distance to get to you, but I have never canceled or missed a booking. I currently don’t do any other work besides petsitting, so I’m able to put your pets first mentally and will be able spend most of my time in your home with your pets. Perfect for pets who can’t be left alone for too long. EXPERIENCE I'm an experienced pet sitter, and beginner dog trainer. I enjoy learning about dog psychology and different training methods, but if I am totally honest animal behavior is something that first comes natural to me. I would love to help reinforce or curate a training program for your dogs, cater to their emotional needs, or simply oxytocin bathe with them! It would give me the opportunity to dial-in and work towards offering more specialized pet and animal services. ABOUT I have a lifetime of general caregiving and pet care experience, but have only turned to it as a source of income within the last few years when I developed a disability, and had to throw in the towel on the type of work I was doing before. As such I am not able to handle large dogs over 65 pounds if they pull on walks. I am also not able to do tug-o-war, or withstand throwing a ball if as a sole form of exercise and enrichment. The exercise I provide must be diversified and staggered throughout the day. A win in my book, since this is actually better for pets as well! I've been on Rover specifically since Oct 2024, and my main focus has been on house sitting. I am willing to travel further out for extended stays, but prefer to limit walks and drop-ins to my neighborhood. I strive for my extended-stay clients to have peace of mind during a trip away. Please feel free to message me about your expectations, and any questions you may have.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

SAFETY Animals naturally warm up to me and feel safe and comfortable with me, but of course there always exist exceptions. I prefer not to handle XL breeds, dogs with aggressive proclivities, or severe pulling and behavioral issues on walks. I can do drop-in and overnight sitting for large dogs if walks are not expected, or the dog is well behaved and doesn’t pull. I bring with me a tactical belt that serves as a waist harness to attach leashes, as well as an Ezy Dog leash and coupler, just to have some extra options for comfort and security. This setup works better if your dogs have harnesses. Of course I don't have to use it and can use what you provide. We should review your emergency contact info and preferred emergency plan(s), as well as any security measures in place for, or that I should uphold for your home. Alarm system? Is your home a key-less entry or will there be a key hidden?

Amy was so wonderful! She was very communicative and sent lots of pictures of Freddie while I was gone. She was the perfect house guest and I could tell she really cared about making sure Freddie felt loved and safe (especially during the 4th of July fireworks). 10/10 would have her stay with Fred again.

Schedule

AVAILABILITY One of the benefits of gig work for me is the privilege to live with the flow of life. I do a good job of keeping my calendar current, but being that I am in a transitional period of life and live in a state of travel, I prefer not to book too far into the future. And I don't mind last minute requests. Messages about scheduling and availability are always welcomed.

NEED TO KNOW I will read your pets about pages, but I understand not everything may be accounted for. If I am providing exercise, do they have a preferred exercise activity? Are there any activities to be avoided due to health issues? On walks, is it okay for them to say hello to other dogs? What about people? If there are multiple dogs, are they able to be walked together or do they need to be walked separately? What's the type of set up you have I will be using? I am a fan of harness walking as it works well with the leash and coupler I travel with. For multiple pets, it's important to know how well they get along and if there are any instances where they should remain separated. Are your pets crate trained, and in what instances should I direct them to their crates? Is there a list of commands your pets know? Are there any behavioral issues to look out for, and do you have a preference on how I handle those? For house sitting, it's good to know in advance the layout of the home and where pet supplies and cleaning products are located. Where the pet room is, assigned sleeping spaces, and kennels are. Can we all sleep together or do we need to sleep separately? It's also important I am explained any conditions they may have, that way if I notice something I'm able to distinguish if it's something new that requires immediate action, or if it's something preexisting I monitor for progress. For house rules, am I consuming food already in the home, or should I plan to bring my own food? Is this a recycling or composting home, and where are those things located? Is play allowed inside, or is that strictly an outdoor activity? Are there any restricted areas in the home for myself or the pets? Will guest be allowed, and should be expecting anyone else to arrive during my stay? (Housekeeper, relative, repair person, etc.) Any special towels or entrance and exit procedures for inclement weather? Do they have raincoats and boots I should put on them, or do you prefer I avoid outside activity in the rain? If dogs do their business outside on the property, am I picking it up or will I be leaving it? Is there anything you're working on with your pets that you'd like me to pay attention to, on walks or otherwise? Any special procedures or location for meal time?
