Pet care experience

Your dog’s home away from home.

Hi! I am a life-long Metairie resident with over 12 years of experience in animal care. If you are looking for the absolute best person to care for your pup, I am that person! I specialize is pups with high anxiety and separation issues. I’ve been called “The dog whisperer” by some of my loyal clients. I live in Metairie near Sam’s on Airline and have lived in the same home over 24 years. I have 3 dogs of my own, dog sitting is my only job so I am home 95% of the time so your pup(s) won’t be left alone long. I do doggie daycare, doggie home visits at your home and doggie extended care in my home. I was a dog foster mom for over 6 years, including dogs in fostice, and have been a dog sitter for the last 7 1/2 years but have always loved and been around animals my whole life. I serve the New Orleans, Metairie, Kenner, Harahan area and offer the following: 🐶 pet-sitting house calls 🐶 private boarding for dogs 🐶 pet transport to/from the groomer, veterinary or any other appointments, if needed while in my care. 🐾 I don’t use crates when I board dogs in my home (unless requested by the owner or if owner is doing crate training) 🐾Pups boarding with me stay in a calming home environment with pet accessible furniture, a huge backyard and a “dog room” where the dogs I sit for love to lounge in and watch Dog TV, which is music and calming videos designed for dogs, and play with the many dog puzzle games and toys I provide. 🐾I also provide beds and dog cots. 🐾All you need to provide is your pups food and feeding schedule, treats and any allergies or important information I need to know about your pup for them to have a relaxing, happy stay! I also have a lot of experience with senior dogs and dogs on medication from my years as a foster dog mom. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a meet & greet just send me a message. I will also happily provide references of other very happy current clients upon request.

Amy was incredibly kind and welcoming. I really enjoyed our interaction and appreciated the thoughtful questions she asked to get to know my dog and ensure he received the best possible care. She was very flexible and accommodating with pickup and drop-off times, and my dog seemed completely comfortable with her. I would absolutely recommend her.

Schedule

Dog sitting is my life. I love what I do and this is not a “side hustle” for me. Sure, I also make and sell jewelry and personalized items from home on Etsy but being a dog sitter is always my first priority. I’m very flexible to watch your babies, day/nights/weekends.

Safety, trust & environment

I have a very large fenced yard with plenty of space to run around and walk my pups at least 2ce a day. I have a 17 year old son with Autism (highly functioning) who gives our own babies, Teeter & Fred lots of hugs and kisses too so your pup will get plenty of love! I live with my son and my fiancé James who loves animals as much as I do. I’m sorry I cannot watch German Shepherds or Pit Bulls because my son is petrified of those 2 breeds. Thanks!

Pets

A typical day

I have an amazing neighborhood that I walk twice daily to give my pups exercise! I also have a huge backyard they can run and play in. When it’s raining or hot outside the animals love relaxing and watching dog/animal TV shows and playing with puzzles and toys I provide.

Please bring your pup’s favorite bed, treats and any special medications. I can accommodate all their special diet and medication needs. Please include special directions for medications. I also always ask my dog parents to provide a shirt or pillowcase that smells like their pup’s favorite human. It helps with anxiety, especially at bedtime. 🥰
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
