As a kid, I was obsessed with animals. I watched Animal Planet nightly, and truly believed that when I grew up I would simultaneously be a zoologist, veterinarian, AND own my own animal shelter. Even though I didn't quite live up to little me's standards, I have been lucky enough to gain years of experience caring for all types of pets for friends, roommates, neighbors, family, and clients. I grew up with Rowan, a vizsla, who was a lovable and sometimes needy dog companion. I continued to gain experience taking care of cats, rodents, and dogs, young and old, large and small. I am now the happy dog parent to my own dog, a retired racing greyhound. * I no longer work with dogs exhibiting reavtivity, resource guarding, or any aggressive tendencies.* Through my experience dog sitting and adjusting a rescue dog to my household, I have gained opportunities to learn and navigate behavioral issues like resource guarding, separation anxiety, and leash reactivity. I have taken care of puppies with lots of energy, shy dogs, as well as older dogs who require assistance with medication or mobility (going up and down stairs, etc). I am a relaxed and outgoing person, who loves to hike, travel, and spend time with animals.
