Availability

I am fortunate to enjoy a fully remote, flexible career, which means I am always present for your canine or feline family members. I can work easily from your home (WiFi is my only requirement) so I can ben present for your pups or cats. I think it's important to a pet's sense of wellbeing to be able to keep to their usual schedule as best as possible while in my care.

Safety, trust & environment

For my clients who come to me: I live on five acres in a log home in a beautiful hilltown in Western Massachusetts, and have a fully fenced yard. I love taking my own pup on daily walks on our property or on nearby dirt roads, so if you have an active dog who needs exercise, I'm your person! If a less active lifestyle is better for your dog, I can fully accommodate that as well. Pets are allowed on my furniture and can make themselves cozy by my wood stove in winter or on my sunny deck in summer. I am familiar with using crates (if desired, but not required) and have a large finished basement perfect for playtime in the winter months.

Information Amy H. would like to know about your pet

I always request a meet-and-greet for new clients, so my dogs can get to know yours and vice versa. This also allows you to check out my space, fenced yard, etc. This 'playdate' is included in your first pet sit. Because of this step, I ask clients to request sit dates at least one week in advance.

A typical day

I usually rise early, and a typical day on our property includes breakfast followed by feeding the chickens and taking a walk on the property. A longer walk excursion is possible, as well as cuddle time by the fire or on the couch. I work remotely and I have a flexible schedule, so I'm not at my desk too many hours at a time. I can accommodate multiple feedings and/or bathroom breaks throughout the day. At night, my pets sleep near me, and I'd be happy to provide yours with a doggie bed as well (or you can provide your own).

Pet care experience

Hello! I am a lifelong pet owner and animal lover with experience with everything from chickens and horses to cats and dogs. I have two canine family members myself: a medium-sized mix named Bonnie and a 10-pound Italian Greyhound/chihuahua named Rio. I know how hard it can be to find loving, reliable, and safe pet setters, which prompted me to open up my own home. My work-from-home career and spacious property allows me the flexibility to fully care for your pet without any interruptions such as commutes or 9-5 work hours. PLEASE NOTE: At this time, I am not taking any new clients for boarding, but I AM available to dog or cat sit in YOUR home for both new and existing clients. Please see my profile and rates for in-your-home sitting. Thank you!

Amy is super responsible and knows all about dogs. Her grounds offer lots of fenced shade and she is great with communications and our dog care needs.

Amazing- thank you so much for everything. Great communication, happy dogs when we picked them up, we knew they were well cared for in an ideal setting. Will book again in the future! We have big dogs and I know it can be a real ask to have someone keep them in their home and we’re so grateful you treated them like family!

Amy and her family were fabulous. They made Takoda feel right at home. Takoda enjoyed making new friends, the walks and sleeping on the couch. Amy was very responsive and provided updates so we knew it was all going well. It was a wonderful experience for us and Takoda. We will definitely board Takoda with Amy again.

Amy is the best dog walker and pet sitter. My dog Zuma loves her. Whenever he sees her, he starts crying until she is petting him. I feel so comfortable leaving Zuma on Amy's care. I even think she takes better care of him than I do lol. I recommend Amy 💯 to take care of my dog. She's amazing.
