I work from home as a writer and editor. As long as you have good wifi, it would often be just as easy for me to work from your home as to work from mine -- to give your pet more than a drop-by sitter. I'm happy to throw in daily photos at no extra charge.

If I'm pet-sitting for you, I'll just find a spot where I can work on my laptop and time my breaks to your pet's needs. While I work, I'm happy to have fur babies beside me.
Information Amy F. would like to know about your pet
It's important for me to know ... * feeding times, amounts and preparation instructions * policies on between-meal treats * medication instructions * explanation of off-limits areas of the house (keep pets off the furniture?) * general potty schedule * tips on temperament (steer clear of other dogs on walks?) * tips on favorite toys and activities * And, of course, emergency contact info for you and your vet.
A typical day
I need breaks about as often as most pets need focused cuddle time and / or mental and physical exercise. My cats loved chasing lasers, and I find quick walks and spurts of fetch with a dog to be much more fun than other kinds of cardio. For longer walks and socializing, Oscar and I enjoyed Sea Isle Park's walking trail and dog park, but I'm sure I can adapt to whatever walking routes your neighborhood has to offer.

Pet care experience
I recently lost my sweet Oscar, a bichon-mix rescue I adopted when he was just a couple of months old. His lovable quirks included a fear of stairs (he had to be carried down) and treating fresh celery like a chew toy. He died of renal failure at age 16, but he acted like a puppy almost to the end. I've also had two cats over the years -- starting with Scootie, who loved tummy rubs, fetched like a dog, had diabetes and required daily injections. Then came Dula, who was sweet enough to "make biscuits" on my head to wake me in the mornings, but who was super tough to pill. Not even the vet could get her to keep one down, but I mastered it with a few tricks. I guess what I'm saying is that I've never been a pro caregiver, but I have loved animals all of my life, and I'm good with them, even when they're a little difficult. It would be my pleasure to make sure your fur babies are loved and cared for while you're away.

Amy is phenomenal. She took such great care of our pets and our home while we were out of town. One of our dogs has severe anxiety and she handled him like a true pro. Definitely recommend.

Amy was so pleasant and easy to work with! We loved getting pictures with updates from her during our vacation. Our home was clean, our plants were thriving, and most importantly, our girl was happy and well taken care of! Thanks Amy!!

Amy was everything we could’ve wanted to care for Brinkley while we were away. She’s incredibly thorough and really communicative. And she stayed on an extra day when our flight home was cancelled. It made our trip even better knowing our dog was in great hands.
Amy was wonderful! She did a fabulous job with our blind Cocker Spaniel. She sent many pictures and updates which were so comforting to us while we were out of town. I highly recommend Amy!!!
