NOTE TO ALL POTENTIAL CLIENTS: I am away from home for 11 hours a day on weekdays. I grew up with a Dachshund, then a Shih-Zhu. I love dogs! I've taken care of friend's pets for years. When their people return, they always tell me their pets came home "happy and relaxed". I will take lots of photos of your dog and send them to you while your dog is with me. You'll always know how your dog is doing. The greatest compliment to me is if your dog behaves at my house the same as s/he behaves at home. That tells me they're comfortable in my home. I love getting to know each dog, their personalities, and their quirks. That's what makes this job so fun for me! You will get a free stay if your dog will do my laundry. (FYI, I fold my towels in half, then in thirds.)

Amy was absolutely amazing with Maddie. She sent frequent updates and was super easy to communicate with so I always knew Maddie was in good hands. She was also very transparent - she immediately let me know that she works out of the house during the work day, which was a little long for Maddie since she usually has access to a dog door so when asked, Amy was willing to let my dog walker come over and walk Maddie each day. Can't say enough good things about Amy. I will definitely be booking with her again!!
Amy did a fantastic job overall! She has been flexible with changes and consistent in sending photos/updates. My dog was so calm when I picked her up, I'm certain she was very comfortable staying at Amy's house!

Schedule
NOTE TO ALL POTENTIAL CLIENTS: I am away from home for 11 hours a day on weekdays. I can walk a dog right before I leave for work, which is around 7am. (Unfortunately, I'm not able to go home for lunch to provide a mid-day walk.) I will, however, walk them immediately when returning home, which is around 6pm. There's at least one more walk before bedtime. I'm able to walk them every few hours on weekends.

I have a condo in Alexandria very close to 395 and King Street. I am on the ground floor, with a small fenced-in patio, and a grassy area beyond. I am on the back of the building, so no car sounds, front door buzzers, or other loud sounds that may cause a dog to be uncomfortable. There is a small dog park directly behind my building.
A typical day
My condo complex is large. There are lots of nooks and crannies that dogs love to explore. Additionally, I love to provide couch cuddles and tummy rubs. I also allow the dog to sleep in my bed with me. When the weather is nice, I can leave the sliding glass door open, allowing the dog to go onto the patio and sniff the plants or hang out on the rug.
