Pet care experience

Welcome to our home.

Our home is made up of me, my husband and two of our children- ages 16 and 10. We have one dog, a lab/golden mix (we think) named Walter. He is 4, a sweet boy and loves everybody. We have been a part of Rover for over 10 years. We have had the joy of keeping a tiny 8-lb pup all the way up to a 140 lb giant Great Dane-including every size in between. It gives us a chance to love on and pamper your pups for a few days or a week at a time while giving you peace of mind. Your pets will be cared for just as if they were in their own home. I work from home and they will have run of the house (with supervision). We don’t mind if they are on furniture and they will be where ever we are including bedtime. We do not keep dogs outside, isolate them from us or kennel. We do recognize some pup friends like the comfort of routine and like to be kenneled for sleep or quiet. If this is the case, we can honor that if you bring your kennel as we do not have one. We have a 2 story home with the ability to gate the stairs if your pup cannot do stairs. If your pup likes to bolt we can also gate the front entrance for extra security as needed. If your pup is fearful of storms or fireworks let me know. We have several canine friends (including Walter) that need extra comfort and sometimes medication to deal. It’s fine. We will make sure to be home, with them and administer meds as you direct. We also love to take walks to the green belt behind our subdivision and play outside in the yard. There will not be any other Rover dogs during your stay, we keep one family's pets at a time. We do not take our visitors to dog parks for pet safety purposes. Any trips to nearby walking trails will be cleared through you. We can't wait to meet y'all! (If you are booking a new stay ask me about my new Rovercode for $20 off your first stay!) Why I love dog sitting I have never not had a dog in my life. They brighten the world, provide companionship and unconditional love. Meet my pets Walter is the sweetest boy ever. He was a stray that came to the lab rescue in Central Texas. We adopted him in January 2022. Not a mean bone in his body. Wants to love everybody and give kisses. He is excited to meet and engage with new doggy friends. About my yard We have a big backyard with grass and a covered porch. The whole yard is fenced in. We are at the end of our street in a quiet cul-de-sac with little traffic. We know our neighbors very well and support our dog sitting through Rover. My experience administering medication I can administer oral meds, medicine for diabetes and other meds given by injection. We have never had a dog run away/go missing or had the need to seek veterinarian care in all the time we have been sitting. In the event there were to be an emergency we would seek care at our nearby vet or yours.

I can't say enough good things about Amy. My oldest dog had knee surgery so Moshe went by himself to Amy for a few days to let his brother get some rest, and had the best time. She and her family are great and always take the best care of my boys.

Amy was so kind and welcoming to our girls! Her home was comfy and extremely dog-friendly, which made us feel at ease right away. She provided daily updates and was always super responsive. It was clear that she and her family took great care of our girls, and we’re so grateful. We would absolutely book with her again!

I’m so glad we found Amy - She is wonderful! Like any living pet parent, leaving Hershey is very hard and can feel stressful. After day 1, I felt at ease. Amy sent cute updates and addressed all the concerns that I had upon drop off. I truly felt that Hershey was receiving the best care I could ask for. 10/10! Thanks again, Amy!

Safety, trust & environment

We have a fenced in yard in a quiet cul-de-sac. Our pup visitors are supervised while playing outside as well as indoors. Our visitors stay indoors for their stay and spend time in yard or on walks in the neighborhood. We are cautious about opening doors so no friends escape. We have the ability to gate the door way if you have an escape artist. We also can gate off the stairs to the second floor if needed.

Pets

A typical day

Here's where we will walk We live less than a mile to the elementary school and there is a great dog-friendly park to walk and play. Sidewalks all the way there and no dangerous things to get into or hurt little paws. Lots of nearby parks so it's nothing to jump in the car and go for a nice walk in the evenings or early mornings. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Indoors wherever they are comfortable. Time I'll spend with your dog Totally depends on the dog's wants/needs. The dogs that stay in our home will stay mainly indoors unless otherwise directed. They will be monitored when they are out in the backyard also. They will be provided with exercise 2-3 times a day and will have as much interaction as they need. I love to load up in the car and go for a ride or to the park. If they wish to sleep the day away that is fine too.

We will follow whatever structure and directions are given, but know that we are really easy going and laid back. If your dog is a little nutty or has a big personality with a mind of her own we are totally fine with that. If your dog is not potty trained, marks, or pees/poops in the house beyond a one-time nervous accident we are not your Rover people. Another sitter would be the best route. ☺️
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
