Certified Dog Trainer

Best care for your best friend! I am a certified dog trainer with years of both personal and professional experience with dogs, and other animals. I teach group dog training classes on most evenings and volunteer at local dog shelters on my free time. I have experience boarding, training, and walking, and am also certified in shelter dog training, pet first aid and CPR. I'm not ready to commit to a dog of my own, so rather than having my own, I want to spend my time making sure that other's pets are getting the all the TLC they deserve! It's difficult for pet owners to be home and attentive all day so I'm here to provide any help that I can. I understand that each dog has its unique personality - I promise to take the time to get to know and care for them like they were my own.

Amy was outstanding with both our dog and our cat! We feel at ease knowing someone so kind and caring is watching over them while we are away and our dog even tried to go back into her house when we came to get him!

Amy was wonderful, lots of communication. Great fenced yard, and very comfortable neighborhood. Clearly our dog loved spending time with her. Everything went as planned. Will definitely call on Amy for care of our dog, again

Amy did a great job watching my dog. She kept me updated regularly by texting messages, pics, and a video. She even offered to take my dog to the vet after noticing him skipping with one of his legs. I would definitely allow Amy to take care of my dog again!

Amy was a fantastic dog sitter! I have two older dogs with health issues and had to go out of town. They're not easy dogs to take care of by any means (one is blind and the other has severe anxiety/ barks nonstop), but from the moment she met them, she was extremely patient and gentle with them. I initially went with her as a dogsitter because of the fact that her flexible schedule would allow for her to feed/ take them out consistently, but was most impressed by how intuitive she was with the dogs. Instead of trying to carry my blind dog from location to location (which my dog does not prefer), she lead her from one location to the next with her leash and was always sure to use smell/ audio cues to guide her along the way. Her place was also very clean and dog-friendly from the initial visit, which is important to me.

Amy is trustworthy, reliable and friendly with pets. Whenever I see her with pets, I realize see how much pets adore Amy and also the amount of love that she has dedicated to them. Moreover, she is very attentive when it comes to pet’s special needs such as medication and having playtime with pets to raise their spirits. If I have to be away from home, I will definitely ask Amy to take care of my pets so that I can be relieved and not worrying about my pets. Her genuine love of pets will give a relief that my pets are in good hands. Amy is awesome!

Amy is the most animal loving person I have ever met! She loves all animals, all shapes and sizes. Sometimes I even think she enjoys the company of animals more than people. She is a very caring, responsible, nice person any dog/cat would love to spend time with. She is definitely the person I personally trust to have look over my pets and would love to see her share her love to other beautiful animals!

Calendar and availability

Schedule

I am home most of the day, as I work from home. At home, I am usually working, reading, and cooking. I also like to do something active about 1-2 days a week (such as hiking). I can care for a pet for most of my day.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 1 cat
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 0-2 hours

Safety, trust & environment

Dogs and cats are allowed to roam freely and are allowed on furniture. If crate is provided and requested, I can crate them. I am extremely patient with all my animal clients. My cat has grown up with a lot of dogs coming into the home so she is well socialized and knows how to find her space (up high in my closet) when overstimulated.

Pets

A typical day

I love being outside as much as just hanging out indoors. My favorite activities to do with dogs are walking around the hills in my quiet neighborhood, and cuddling up in the evening. I typically will walk boarding dogs at least 3 times a day unless otherwise requested.

I would like to know if the dog barks or howls in unfamiliar environments, have separation anxiety, is house-trained, and are reactive to other dogs/people/noises, so that I can make the stay more comfortable!
