When your friend needs a friend!
Pet owner, pet lover! I have been sitting for friends and family since I was a teen. I also grew up around large dogs. I adopted a staffy mix in 2014 and we had 9 great years together before she passed. I’m not ready to adopt again, so until then, I’d like to help others. I’ve also had a few cats in the past and currently have 2! They are both tolerant of dogs and if they are uncomfortable, they will typically leave the room. My friends will bring their dogs when they visit me and my cats do well. I don’t have a yard per se but there is a lot of open space for frequent walks/potty breaks. My apartment complex is very pet-friendly. I am on the 2nd floor, so there are 2 sets of steps that may make it hard for older dogs. I often do overnights and stay with pets in their own home to maximize their comfort and keep their routines intact. I’m flexible based on your individual needs. One of my interests is in animal behavior. I have read many books (my favorites are from Patricia B. McConnell) My philosophy is we are training everyday. Consistency is important to me and for them, so I will ask many questions during the meet and greet stage to understand their needs and know how to best support you both. I look forward to meeting you both!

Amy is the best. I highly recommend her for anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy pet sitter! She has cared for our dogs and cat as needed for the past 10 years, and we have always felt completely confident leaving both our pets and our home in her care. She is dependable, flexible, and attentive to each pet’s needs and routines. We have an elderly dog and a young active dog who require very different needs to be met and she does that easily. She is equally comfortable staying in our home while we’re away or traveling back and forth for visits, which has made it easy to find an arrangement that works for each trip. She also takes great care of the house, and we always return to everything just as we left it. After many years of consistently positive experiences, I would recommend her to others with a ton of confidence. She is someone we trust completely with our pets and our home, and I know they are well cared for whenever we are away.
There are few that I have known that care for pets the way Amy cares for pets. She treats each animal like it were her own. She is respectful, playful, and loving towards them. I do not trust many people to care for my dog, but I trust Amy. Likewise, my dog does not trust many people, but she trusts Amy. That's the biggest testimonial any could ask for.

Schedule
My schedule is determined by the pets in my care and their schedules. I am currently freelance with WFH tasks and gig work and schedule my other jobs around my pet care calendar.

Safety, trust & environment
I live in a pet-friendly apartment complex with lots of open space to walk. With me, your pup will have 24/7 one-on-one attention. They are allowed on the furniture and will always be supervised. I also have room to set up a crate if they are crate-trained but most of the time they will play and hangout where I am. I have 2 cats that do well with dogs. The cat food is raised off the floor and litter boxes are located in the main living space and are scooped immediately.

A typical day
Following your instructions and their preferences we will cycle through playing inside with toys, puzzle games, or training reinforcement, sprinkled with leashed walks around my complex with lots of green space to explore, and of course down time, relaxing with pets, cuddles, and naps.
