Every dog is a therapy dog

I’ve been in love with dogs since I can remember, and my favorite type of work/volunteering has always involved them. When I was 15 I started dog sitting for my family friend, I watched and walked little Johnny twice a week for almost 2 years while his mom was out doing errands. After that, I started volunteering at the LoveJoy Foundation, an animal rescue in California. I walked dogs, cleaned crates, and even helped with vaccinations once a week at adoption events! My time at LoveJoy was one of the most rewarding experiences ever, and it taught me how to work with different types of dogs and different behaviors, including neurodivergent and disabled pups. I have a family dog of my own, sweet Montana, who will always be my best friend no matter how far apart we are. Montana is a bit older now, so we mostly enjoy hanging out on the couch together, but in his prior years I loved taking him on hikes, to the dog beach, and really anywhere that I went. I also have a crested gecko named Axel!

Amy was my first dog sitter/walker. She started the summer she was 14 and continued until she graduated from high school. My dog, Johnny, loved Amy, any he couldn’t wait for her to come each week. They would go for long walks, play in the patio, and enjoy treats in the house. We have had other dog sitters since Amy left for college but none have compared to Amy. She is a very special young lady.

I can’t say enjoy wonderful things about Amy! She cared for our beloved French Bulldog as if he were her own - providing constant attention, care, affection and even updates. Knowing he was safe, happy, and well cared for gave me complete peace of mind while I was vacationing. Highly recommend Amy for your pet sitting needs! She’s wonderful! ❤️

Amy has overnight sat for our Goldendoodle, Penny. She has been such a lifesaver as I hate leaving my dog but we know that she is in great hands with Amy. Penny gets so excited when she sees her. Amy sends pictures so we know Penny is happy 😄 You can count on Amy. She shows up on time and gives lots of love to our doodle. 5 out of 5 stars!!!

We had such a wonderful experience with Amy pet sitting for us last summer. She was incredibly sweet, responsible, and consistently communicative, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It meant everything to know our dog and cat were in such good hands—we truly never worried for a moment. She went above and beyond in the most thoughtful ways, even washing my daughter’s bedding after our pet had an accident. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and kind pet sitter. We would happily use her again!

Schedule

I’m currently a junior at CU Boulder, so I do have school during the week but only for about 2-3 hours each day, most of the time I’m home to care for a pup! I absolutely love being outside here in Boulder, it’s too beautiful not to be, so walks and adventures are plentiful!

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has an unfenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has no pets
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 2-4 hours

Safety, trust & environment

I have a large house for your pup to roam around, but if it’s preferred that he stays in a crate during the day I can accommodate that too! My yard isn’t fenced, but we would have a lot of outside time at the park and on walks exploring all corners of Boulder. I do have experience dog sitting in client’s homes, I know that some dogs are probably more comfortable staying in their own home!

A typical day

I love to take a dog on fun adventures like a hike or a dip in the creek, and definitely just spend as much time as we can outside! Fetch in the park is always a go-to, and then I love to spend the end of the day hanging out on the porch on the front of my house while your pup and I enjoy all the smells going on!

Let me know if your dog has any niche little quirks or behaviors that are important! One of my favorite parts of working with animals is getting to see the odd but charming things about them.
