Safety, trust & environment

I work from home all day, so your dog will not be alone. I will spoil your dog rotten (the way I spoil my own). I sit at a computer for work, and I get up and go outside every 4 hours for a short walk. My dog gets two long walks a day. I'd be bringing your dog outside for a quick walk about every 4 hours (plus the two long walks) throughout the day. Dogs in this house are allowed on the furniture, and I sleep with them. I only pet-sit one dog at a time. The only restrictions I have is that your dog is potty-trained, treated for fleas, and not aggressive. HIGH STRUNG AND OVERLY ACTIVE DOGS WOULD NOT BE A GOOD FIT FOR MY 18-POUND DOG. Also, they if a dog pulls too hard on a leash, it hurts my shoulder (I had a sport injury). We do not care for first-time dogs for an extended period of time. Maximum time for first-time dogs is 4 days. UPDATE: Large dogs aren't a good fit. They tend to play too roughly with my 18-pound dog. So dogs who are 22 pounds and under are welcome. While we don't have a fenced-in yard, we have a big yard with woods in back. We live on a quiet street in a cul-de-sac off Falls of Neuse near Durant Road. My dog is up on all his vaccinations and is on flea-preventative treatment. I have records I can show you. I'd like for your dog to be up on his or her shots and be treated for fleas as well, for the well-being and health for both of our animals. My puppy Grayson is now 2-years-old (as of July 2021) and completed 'DOG HOME MANNERS' at Topline K9 Solutions, so he's a well-behaved little boy and would be good company for your dog. However, a high-strung dog who plays rough may accidentally hurt our small dog by rolling over on him. Our puppy is sweet, not aggressive at all, and is only 18 pounds. So if you would like for your doggie to be very well cared for, let me know. We can meet beforehand for a free Meet-n-Greet at a private fenced in area.

A typical day

Your dog will literally get a short walk around the neighborhood every 4 or 5 hours. I do this for selfish reasons too (for my own health). I walk once in morning when I get up (8am–ish), then early afternoon around 1:00, then early evening, then before I go to bed around 10pm. The morning and afternoon walks are a long walks.

Pet care experience

Hey dog friends. I work from home all day, so your dog will not be alone. I can keep your dog overnight for $38/night (Rover adds additional fees), or, I can watch your dog during the day. As you can see, I'm not in this for the money; I'm doing this because I love dogs, and my young dog would love the company. I cook for my dog (baked chicken, sweet potato, green beans, peas, plain Greek yogurt), and after reviewing your dog's dietary restrictions with you, I can sprinkle these treats over your dog's food, if you'd like and with your permission. Dogs in this house are allowed on the furniture, and I sleep with them. I only pet-sit one dog at a time. I can literally give you 10+ references, because my friends tell me that they want to be reincarnated as my dog after they die. The only restrictions I have is that your dog is potty-trained, treated for fleas, and not aggressive. HIGH STRUNG AND OVERLY ACTIVE DOGS WOULD NOT BE A GOOD FIT FOR MY 18-POUND DOG. Also, if a dog pulls too hard on a leash, it hurts my shoulder (I had a sports injury). We do not care for first-time dogs for an extended period of time. Maximum time for first-time dogs is 4 days. Amy was fantastic and took excellent care of Clyde, over the weekend. We had a meet and greet session beforehand where Amy was very diligent, asking many questions to ensure she had all the information needed to care for Clyde. This put me completely at ease leaving him in their capable hands. Clyde got along so well with Amy’s dog, Grayson, and they had such fun together. I felt so comfortable being away for the weekend, knowing he was in good hands. Thank you for being such wonderful hosts!

Amy took great care of our dog! She was thorough in finding out our dog's diet, schedule, habits, etc. We also did a meet and greet to see if our dog got along with her adorable pup. Amy kept us up to date every day (at our request), but she will ask if you want several pics, 2 or 3, or none. Our fur baby was well taken care of. I will use her services again!

Amy is excellent! She is friendly and enjoys pets. Amy kept our dog for 2 full days and overnight while we attended an out-of-town conference. Our pet had a wonderful time playing with Amy's dog. Amy arranged a meet and greet ahead of time to see how the two dogs would interact. Amy sent us pictures while we were out of town and kept us informed. We strongly recommend Amy.

I've known Amy for nine years now and have always known her to be very loving and attentive to her dogs. They always appear well-fed, well-groomed, and healthy. She is very open to other dogs as well, dog sitting and arranging dog-friendly events so others can include their dogs. She also gave me lots of valuable advice when I got my own puppy. I would absolutely trust her with my dog and highly recommend her to anyone else.
