I work from home, so I am home most of the time with your dog. Dogs may be left alone during work hours for a few hours at most. On weekends, I either take your dog with us on outdoor excursions (if permitted). If your dog has separation anxiety, I try to take them with us, or I stay home and make a weekend to stay in.

I live in a low-rise condo/apartment building and they have access to my whole apartment. I will always notify you immediately if there is an emergency regarding your pets. If no emergency vet is listed, I will go to the nearest available one. I typically walk dogs 3-4x a day minimum: first thing in the morning, a mid-day walk, after work, and before bedtime. If permitted, I will take them to the beach or hiking, or the nearby dog park. I always follow the owner's feeding schedule and other rules so as not to break any habits at home (ex: being allowed on furniture or not). I specialize in older/senior dogs so I know how to administer medications (oral medications, eye drops, and injections like insulin shots). I have also taken care of rescue dogs with trauma and understand dogs with anxiety or fear of things like loud noises, fireworks, etc. I can easily crate your dog if needed. If they tend to chew on things or go through the trash, let me know, and I can prevent that from happening. :)

Information Amy A. would like to know about your pet
- Is your dog house trained to go outside or are they puppy pad trained? If puppy pads, completely trained? - How are they around strangers and other dogs? (Example: running into people or other dogs while walking him). - Does your dog have any separation anxiety? - Are there health problems, allergies, restrictions, or issues I should know about? - Does he/she know any commands? - Are there any noise or barking issues? - Has your dog been abused or traumatized by something in the past? - What is their feeding schedule? - Is your dog leash trained? - What should I know to make them comfortable and happy in my home?
A typical day
During the week, I work from home so your dog will always have company! On weekends, I usually spend the weekend planning around being home with the dog or enjoying the great weather with him/her as much as possible. Lengthy walks and romps around the dog park. I'll play with them using their toys and lots of cuddles.

Pet care experience
Aloha! I am a working professional living in Honolulu (Kakaako) and I work from home so your beloved pet has more attention and care than usual. I am a dog lover and have grown up with dogs my entire life. I will definitely be a dog parent one day but my doggy clients are amazing and keep me quite busy so I’m happy with this at the moment! Your dog is the only dog in my home when I am dog sitting. I like to provide 1:1 attention and provide a little more premium experience for your dog. This is why my rates are a bit higher. My clients like to say their dog is going on vacation too when they are with me! :) Your dog has my utmost attention, and I ensure they are well-loved and cared for as if they were my own dog. I am responsible, communicative, and respectful. I am happy to follow all the rules you have set at your home (ex: dietary restrictions, being allowed on bed or not). You can look forward to receiving pictures of your pet while you’re away and be reassured they are comfortable and well-cared for. I will always notify you immediately if there is an emergency regarding your pets. I will consider littermates or two dogs from the same household or if they are friends as long as they are both house-trained and do not exhibit aggression towards other dogs or people, since it’s more difficult to control two dogs while on a walk. Owners: Please be upfront about your dog and any issues, such as separation anxiety, no leash training, or aggression towards other dogs, or people. It's helpful to have this information and expectations when dog-sitting. :) Note: I live in an apartment building and, unfortunately, cannot care for a dog that is extremely aggressive towards other dogs or people. Mahalo for understanding. Drop-off: I can be flexible, but I may need to schedule some meetings outside of work hours. Pick up: I prefer around the same time they were picked up, but am flexible, given it's an hour or two. If it's 3 hours or more, a surcharge may apply; Rover will calculate the rate automatically.
Reviews

Highly recommend Amy! Our dog Pepper is usually shy, but she liked Amy instantly. Pepper felt right at home and we loved getting all the reassuring photo updates. Amy effortlessly accommodated Pepper’s custom feeding routine, and when Pepper had a mild, brief stomach upset, Amy was incredibly proactive, communicative, and caring. She is flexible, responsive, and gave us total peace of mind while we were away!

Amy is the best and we cannot recommend her enough. We’ve been fortunate to be able to leave our dog Kiki in Amy’s care 6 times now and it always provides us such peace of mind knowing that Kiki is being well taken care of while we are away. Professional, kind, and reliable.

Amy is a great dog sitter! She took care ok my dog, Kai! He immediately took a liking to Amy the moment we met her for the first time! I always trust my dog’s instincts and I already knew Kai was in great hands! I will definitely contact her again whenever I need a dog sitter 😄

Thank you for watching Bandit. 🧡
