Pet care experience

Peace of mind while you are away

I have had many decades of well-loved Labradors, a couple exceptional Mastiffs, and a loveable yet crazy Brittany. In our home we have two full time cats that moved in after our neighbor passed away. Our family lives have always included pets and a multitude of farm critters that we care, love and enjoy. I am comfortable and have experience with large dog personalities as well as the medical and physical needs of seniors. And I can follow directions!

Our dog, Sophie, received excellent care while we were out of town. We were kept updated and were at ease because we knew Sophie was being taken well care of.

Schedule

I work full time as faculty at a local college, however my schedule has flexibility throughout the week as well as through the day. Typically I am available most days and locally can travel easily for pet care.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has caged pets
Has 2 cats
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture

Safety, trust & environment

Dogs can be boarded here as long as they are cat and dog friendly. There are 2 cats and I also watch our son's Brittany Spaniel during the week. For dogs that do stay here, they are allowed on the furniture as well as on our bed and there are multiple dog beds for their choice. Our backyard is fenced away from the road behind a privacy fence. For those dogs that like to swim there is a concrete salt water pool available during the season. Whatever directives the pet family prefers will be followed with updates regularly.

Pets

A typical day

I can incorporate your pup in my daily activities, whether that is spending time in the salt water pool during the season, playing in the yard, running errands, going to the farm or lounging on the sofa. They are welcome to spend time anyway you and they choose!

Cats
0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
41 to 100 lbs
over 101 lbs
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Takes only 1 client at a time
Amy can host up to 2 pets per night
Please be mindful we can not take care of males that are not neutered, puppies can be exceptions on a case by case basis. It would also be difficult for a pet with a high prey drive to stay with us. We have periodic farm critters and other animal rehabs that would make it hard on the household. Spend a few minutes letting me know those unique aspects of your dog. Their preferences for how they spend their time, typical activity level, and any special needs/medications they may have. When you reach out please confirm your pet is up to date on vaccinations and that they are on flea meds. I also highly suggest a quick drop by to make sure we are a good fit for their needs and personalities!
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
