Hi, I’m Ammelia! I’m a volunteer at the Humane Society and recently worked as a staff member at the animal shelter for almost 1.5 years. I’ve taken care of thousands of animals in my life, most at the animal shelter where I worked as an Animal Care Technician, providing daily care to all types of animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, barnyard animals, birds and more! I now volunteer instead because I am attending college where I am majoring in both Psychology and Animal Behavior 🎓🐾 I truly love and care about each animal I meet and enjoy building bonds with the pets I look after!

With plenty of experience handling fearful, stressed and scared animals at the shelter, I have learned many skills to make them feel more safe and comfortable in my presence, which is very important to me when caring for pets. It has also taught me so much patience and to understand their behaviors and emotions better than ever.

Ammelia always takes such good care of my kitties while I'm away. She sends me regular updates and photos of them. She even takes care of small things around my house like bringing in packages and watering my plants. She always goes above and beyond and I absolutely love having her!
Ammelia was amazing with our pups! During our meet and greet she paid close attention to everything we were explaining and she even asked questions that I had thought of to address. She’s very sweet and was thoughtful about how she handled her first interactions with them. I could tell she wanted more than to just watch them for us, she wanted to earn their trust, which she absolutely did! Our Jack Russell immediately fell in love with her and brought her favorite toy out twice! A true compliment! Our Chihuahua is choosy about his people but he warmed up to her quickly too! Ammelia was on time for each visit and sent detailed updates and photos about them. We are so grateful for her and how well she cared for our fur babies while we were away! We will 100% rebook with her in the future!
Amazing sitter for my 3 dogs. They fell in love with her and now have expectations from us to pamper them that same way. But she put us at ease with the care she provided. Will definitely use again.
