Relief vet tech and petsitter

I am a relief veterinary technician currently working in hospitals across the country. I have extensive experience in emergency and critical care, including running ICU, monitoring hospitalized patients, administering medications, managing chronic conditions, and recognizing medical emergencies early. In addition to my veterinary background, I am a professional pet groomer and the owner of an independent pet-sitting business. I am comfortable caring for animals of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments, including seniors, puppies, special-needs pets, and animals requiring medical or post-operative care. Your pets receive attentive, knowledgeable, and professional care at all times.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

I care for pets primarily in their own home to minimize stress and maintain their normal routine. I closely follow the owner’s instructions for feeding, medications, exercise, and household rules. I prioritize safety by monitoring behavior, securing doors and gates, maintaining clean environments, and watching for any signs of illness or injury. With my veterinary training, I am comfortable handling medical needs and responding appropriately if concerns arise.

I would not recommend Amity unless your pet is 100% standard care. We were very upfront with her in our meet and greet that our dog Honey was special needs, and confirmed with her that she would be present at our house the majority of the time to watch her (she herself said this to us). We left specific feeding instructions as well in both the Rover pet notes and a print out next to her food on the counter. 1. She was not at the house most of the time based on our home security, which would be fine if she hadn't reassured us that this would not be the case. It was an important component of our sitter choice when booking. 2. She did not follow our feeding instructions, per the texts we received. She left the food (with perishable meat) out overnight, which can make the dog sick and was specifically called out in our notes (pick up after 30 minutes if not eaten). This was all confirmed via messages. Our instructions were not complex, it was a single page. They were described in multiple places more than once. And yet every text I got clearly indicated that she either never read them or ignored them. We ended our trip early because of this and had a family friend go check up on her. Super disappointed.

Amity was responsive and sent us photos of our dogs during the stay. She did great with and was able to make our anxious/nervous dog comfortable. She also did great with our two senior dogs. Our pack is eclectic and not easy to care for. A big thank you to Amity for caring for our dogs, so we could enjoy a night away!

Amity did an excellent job watching out two dogs! She was also very flexible as we had to make a last minute change. She updated us with messages and photos while we were gone. We knew our dogs were in great hands and did not have to worry while gone! Would highly recommend her!

Schedule

Pet care is a core part of my routine. As a relief veterinary technician, my schedule varies, but I plan my bookings carefully to ensure pets receive consistent, attentive care. When I am not working in a hospital, I am available throughout the day for visits, walks, medication administration, and check-ins. My veterinary background allows me to efficiently assess pets, manage time-sensitive needs, and adapt care based on each animal’s condition and behavior.

I like to know feeding routines, medications and dosing schedules, medical history, behavioral quirks, and any mobility or health concerns. I also ask about crate use, room restrictions, emergency contacts, and the location of veterinary records or preferred clinics. Clear communication ensures I can provide safe, consistent, and personalized care from day one.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
