Ami can care for
Availability
I am a full-time pet sitter. I offer drop in visits, dog walking, boarding, and doggy day care. We want your dogs to feel comfortable while staying here. Your pup will have free roam of our house. If they sleep in your bedroom at night, we will do the same here. They are allowed on our furniture (unless you give instructions otherwise). If your dog is coming here for daycare or boarding, please be sure to pack their bed, leash, bowls, food, and treats. I would be more than happy to provide transportation to pick up or drop off your pet too. 🚕 I have a seat belt that your dog can wear in the car or I can transport them in a kennel if that is your preference. I respect rules and routines that other people have for their dogs/cats and will follow that. I know how comforting it is to have people who care for your pets the way you would. Our four legged loved ones bring so much joy to our lives and you want someone who will provide them with the kind of care that you would give to them.

Information Ami W. would like to know about your pet
Please answer these questions honestly so I can provide the best care for your pet: 1) Current on all vaccines? 2) Are they on flea/tick and heartworm preventatives? 3) Any special dietary needs or food allergies? Do they take any oral medications, injected medications, or eye/ear drops? 4) What is your dog's daily routine (feeding instructions, potty break frequency, exercise length, sleeping arrangements)? 5) Are they potty trained? Do they use pee pads inside? Crate trained? Any urinary incontinence or marking? Wear diapers? 6) How well do they get along with other dogs? Are they reactive to other dogs while on a leash? 7) Is your pup afraid of anything (thunderstorms, fireworks, vacuums, stairs, umbrellas, etc.)? 8) How does your pet react to new people? Are they well socialized? Have they ever growled/hissed or bit anyone? Do they jump on guests when greeting them? 9) Do they have any health conditions? Examples include: diabetes, cushing's disease, cancer, epilepsy, heart murmur, breathing problems, kidney disease, collapsing trachea, UTI, arthritis, glaucoma, blind, ear infections, deaf, collapsing trachea, dementia, etc. 10) Does your dog show any signs of separation or noise anxiety?
A typical day
We live in a single family house in Gainesville with a fenced in yard. There are plenty of sidewalks in our neighborhood to take your dog for long walks or short leisurely strolls (depending on their exercise needs). My husband works from home so he is here if I need to step out to walk a dog or do an occasional drop-in visit. He will often join us on walks or throw a ball for your dog in our backyard when the weather is nice. We will never leave your pup unattended in our backyard. It's important that we're out there with them so they don't dig or eat grass. They will have access to water 24/7. Your pup will get plenty of exercise, supervised play time, potty breaks, and treats. I also offer lots of cuddles! If there is anything else I can do to make your pup’s stay more enjoyable, please let me know. Your pup must be house-broken and/or crate trained if staying here. Also, I require meet and greets for all new clients.

Pet care experience
Hi! My name is Ami. Growing up, my family always had multiple animals in our home - dogs, cats, and fish. My parents breed West Highland White Terriers so I have assisted in raising litters of puppies (whelping, bottle feeding, socializing, training, etc.) until they are old enough to go to their forever home. I began pet sitting for relatives, friends, and neighbors from a young age and my love for animals only grew from there. As an adult, I've always had at least one dog of my own, all of them rescues. I have also had the pleasure of fostering numerous dogs and cats. I have experience with dogs of all sizes, seniors, and those with special needs (including blind, deaf, dementia, seizures, and separation anxiety). I am certified in Pet CPR and First Aid. I became a full-time pet sitter because I am passionate about animals and love spending time with them! Both my husband and I work from home and we always make sure that at least one of us is home while your dog is visiting. They will never be left alone while staying here. I'm a firm believer that pets are family and should be treated as such. Your fur baby will be very spoiled and we will love them like they are our own. We currently have two dogs. Kiki is a 16 year old Chihuahua and Summer is a 5 year old Standard Poodle. Feel free to read more about them by clicking on their pictures. New to Rover? Ami is AMAZING! I found her on Rover and my experience was wonderful. She is so patient with my dog and she is so nice to work with. I highly recommend her!!! :)

Responds to requests/bookings SO quick and went on a way longer walk than we paid for! Truly shows her love for animals and is pleasant to be around!

Friendly, great communication, lots of detail in the walk report - will definitely use again!

We are so glad we found Ami on Rover. Our dog Rosie loves her. Ami is extremely responsive and sends pictures of Rosie every day when she is there to show us how she is doing. We highly recommend Ami!!
