Ami can care for
Availability
I am always available evenings and weekends. My schedule is flexible though, let me know what you need and I can move things around accordingly. I understand that some animals can be fearful meeting new people and may need some extra time to feel comfortable, with that I can free up sometime to do a few meet and greets before preforming the service requested.

Information Ami L. would like to know about your pet
Let me know if your pet requires any special instructions like dietary and/or medications. Also, I would love to hear what activities and treats your pet loves and also hates so I can make their walk/sleep overs a fun and exciting experience for everyone! The more information you can provide me the better!
A typical day
Whatever your pet likes, we will do just that! We can enjoy a game of catch or just a simple stroll around the park! We can go for a run or do a cool hike! Go for a swim to the lake, or we can even just relax at home and watch a movie. Let me know whatever your pet likes and we can make a plan. I do enjoy taking treats on walks for dogs that love their snacks, and offer treat scatters in areas they can search for them. Please let me know if your pet has allergies or dietary restrictions.

Pet care experience
With over 15 years of hands-on experience in the animal care field, I’ve had the privilege of working in various roles that have enriched my knowledge and deepened my passion for animals. My journey began in animal emergency hospitals, where I learned to handle critical situations and provide immediate, life-saving care. I then transitioned to working in animal shelters, where I developed a strong understanding of animal behavior, rehabilitation, and the emotional needs of pets who have experienced trauma or abandonment. For the past 5 years, I’ve proudly served as an Animal Control Officer, where I manage a wide range of cases and work to protect both animals and the community. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with many types of animals, primarily cats and dogs, but also including reptiles, small mammals, and even farm animals. My knowledge of animal behavior is extensive, and I’m experienced in handling animals of all temperaments, from the most fearful to the most exuberant. I have a particular expertise in working with animals who have special needs, especially dogs that are paralyzed, as I personally care for a dog who requires the use of a wheelchair. This experience has taught me not only technical skills, such as administering medication and providing physical therapy, but also the patience and compassion necessary to support an animal’s well-being in challenging circumstances. I am a certified Fear Free handling, which means I am trained to use techniques that minimize stress and anxiety in animals during handling, grooming, or medical procedures. I believe that every pet deserves to feel safe, calm, and comfortable, and I strive to make their experience with me as positive as possible. Whether your pet is recovering from surgery, dealing with a behavioral issue, or simply needs a little extra attention, I’m dedicated to providing them with the best care possible. I use positive reinforcement techniques to help reactive dogs feel more secure, gradually desensitizing them to the presence of other dogs in a controlled and safe manner. I also focus on providing clear and consistent communication through body language and calm vocal cues, which helps create a sense of safety for the dog and builds their confidence in social situations. My experience with handling a variety of temperaments allows me to tailor my approach based on the dog’s specific needs In my free time, I would love the opportunity to take care of your fur baby and do something I’m deeply passionate about. Animal care isn’t just my job it’s my calling, and there’s nothing more rewarding to me than helping pets feel loved, comfortable, and secure. If you have any questions or concerns, or if you're looking for someone who truly understands the needs of your pet, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I look forward to hearing from you and providing the best care for your beloved pet!

Ami is great. Our dog is always so happy to see her. House is left spotless. Lots of updates & pictures. Thank you!

She was flexible and understanding with our situation when I had to reschedule. My pets loved having her and were waiting for her by the front door for hours after she left :,) Highly recommend!

Amy was such a help. She went above and beyond I needed her help because I was traveling. I take care of my elderly parents which have dementia. She was so kind to them when she came and picked up Kona and gave me updates on my dog but also my parents. Amy is great.
