I work part-time as a home health nurse with a very flexible schedule. Therefore, it's easy for me to incorporate pet-walking and housesitting into my schedule, offering lots of attention, love, and exercise/activity to meet the needs of your pets.

From caring for domestic pets (dogs, cats, fish, guinea pigs, mice) to farm animals (chickens, ducks, goats, sheep, horses), I love to create safe and loving environments for the animals and to foster trusting relationships with them. Many of my housesitting experiences have been longterm and return clients, with some assignments lasting up to a year. Often they have included garden and farm maintenance (paid). I pride myself on leaving a home as tidy as I found it (often even more sparkly :)

Feeding instructions and special routines are important so that I can respect those for each animal. Personalities and favorite acitivities, toys, etc. are very helpful to connect with your pet in familiar ways.
A typical day
I enjoy hiking and will always take your dog out for as much exercise as they want. In urban areas I look for the parks and green spaces that allow for as much "nose" and discovery as possible. I will happily visit dog parks if your dog is comfortable and familiar with one. At home I take time to play, train, and/or reinforce your training regimen with dogs. I am always available for cuddling and snuggling with cats and dogs who want that. I am also willing to brush, groom, and bathe your pet as needed.

I am passionate about connecting with animals, people, new places on the Earth! I've been housesitting, farming and studying herbalism and health coaching for over 15 years, and I am a verified/vetted 5-star sitter on another international pet-sitting site. I have also worked as a trained naturalist/wildlife guide and vet tech, and have extensive training in the biology, care, track and sign of mammals. Housesitting/animal care has offered me a wonderful opportunity to include animals in my life now that my own two Aussies have passed. I love meeting and getting to know your lovable pets! I love to be healthy and don't smoke anything :)

I’ve been looking for just the right person to take care of Daisy when we travel and I found her! Amethyst is so wonderful! I came home to a very happy fur baby and my house spotless.
Amethyst was very kind and loving with our senior girl, Muki. Upon our return Muki had enjoyed several outings and was clearly fond of Amethyst. Senior dogs can be a challenge with medication, feeding habits and potty schedule! Amethyst was wonderful!! We highly recommend her services.
Amethyst housesat for our neighbor for two weeks, caring for her sweet pup Stella. Stella is like family to us and we could tell she absolutely LOVED Amethyst. Amethyst won Stella's heart quickly and solidly and was loving, attentive and caring every time we saw them together. By what we saw, we would easily pick Amethyst if we needed a dog or house sitter or both!!
