Availability

Pet care fits pretty naturally into my routine. I work part-time, so I have a good amount of flexibility during the week, especially in the mornings, and I’m available most weekends. I’m able to plan my schedule around walks, drop-ins, or boarding to make sure pets get the time and attention they need, not just quick check-ins.

I take safety and comfort seriously, whether pets are in my home or theirs. I’m very aware of behavior and body language, and I make sure introductions, feeding, and routines are handled calmly and intentionally. I have experience working in a high-volume boarding environment, so I’m comfortable managing different personalities and energy levels. Information Amelia T. would like to know about your pet

I’ll ask about their routine, energy level, and personality, along with how they do around other people and dogs. It’s helpful to know what commands they know, how they are on a leash, and if they tend to pull, get excited, or react to anything. I also like to know feeding details, allergies, whether they can have treats, and any medical needs. If there are specific triggers, protective behaviors, or any history of biting, I want to be aware so I can handle things safely and appropriately. The more I know upfront, the better I can match their routine and make them feel comfortable while you’re away.

A typical day

I like to keep dogs active and engaged based on their energy level and personality. That can mean walks, playing fetch, tug, or just letting them explore and sniff at their own pace. I also mix in some basic mental stimulation like simple games or working on commands if they enjoy it. If they’re more laid back, I’m just as happy hanging out and giving them attention so they feel comfortable and relaxed.

Pet care experience

Hi! I’ve been around dogs my entire life and genuinely feel most at home with them. I grew up walking dogs in my neighborhood, so caring for different personalities, energy levels, and needs has always come naturally to me. I also have hands-on professional experience working at a high capacity boarding facility, where I helped care for many dogs at a time alongside a small team, including senior and special needs dogs. I gained experience in administering a variety of medications including injections. That environment solidified my knowledge in how to read dog behavior, handle group dynamics safely, and stay calm and attentive even in high-energy play situations. Whether your dog is playful, shy, wild, or needs a little extra patience, I’m comfortable meeting them where they are. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, and I take that responsibility seriously. I’d love to give your dog a safe, engaging, and comfortable experience while you’re away.

I’ve known Amelia for several years, and she has helped care for my dogs, cats, and other animals many times over the years. She’s always been reliable, easy to communicate with, and genuinely great with animals. My pets are comfortable with her, which says a lot, and I always feel at ease knowing they’re in good hands when she’s watching them. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to help with their pets.
